  • Im still here. Mohave desert (Queen of the damned, Im a VAMPIRE).

    You coming?

    This entire album is me.

  • wish i could see a concert of this... would make my life man

  • CHECK OUT MY COVER OF THIS SONG GUYS! :)

  • Fantastic song. =) too bad it's a touch too heavy to be radio friendly.

  • APR is the weakest album but there are some songs on it that are just awesome...it has highs and downs but too many downd thats the problem ...

  • @IamAmazinghehe: as an overall message, it was a good album. The sound wasn't bad and I didn't dislike a single song it. To someone who's new to Rise, it's an easy intro. But to fans that have heard/known them since the older stuff ('01-'06) that this is baby stuff compared to what the band is truly capable of. I blame signing to a major label but a bigger label means more people hearing the message and what they have to say in their songs. This song gives you a sense of where their roots are.

  • @IamAmazinghehe Collapse, Kotov Syntrome, Entertainment, Hero of War and this one are the only highs IMO.

  • My favourites had usually been the first and fourth(exclude The Dirt Whispered) tracks.

  • The song is about Chris leaving. They're basically telling him that it's ok, and that they're not mad at him :)

  • @Absolution913: yeah....in a really awesome, deep Rise Against kind of way. XD that's what I figured it was about, though.

  • A final track is always the best!

  • @crazidoode A second track is always the best:

    1. My life inside your heart

    2. Heaven knows

    3. The first drop

    4. Injection

I don't know too much about their later albums.

  • @Mike007RA Every track is the best!

  • @aniharman100 I disagree. Some tracks speak to me more than others.

  • @Mike007RA I strongly agree with that

  • Hey TMC, in your opinion, what are the good songs on ATR?

    Just asking...

  • the underrated songs are always the best:D

  • @guitarownerlol yup :D

  • BEST SONG I EVER HEARDDDDDDDDD!!!!!! ITS ALRIGHT!

  • Even then the saddest sounds were nothing laughter could not drown... i hesitate, then look for a sign

  • 2:22 to 3:00 GOOOOOOO HARDDDDDDDDDD

  • I never thought I'd see a commercial on this channel. Meh, it happens.

  • Heh, i've started gathering money for the concert in UK this november, and i live in Serbia :D After i watch Rise Against live i can die calmly

  • @Zivadin94 Budapest March 19th.. I kako sad stoje stvari ide nas krsh iz Novog Sada, pa mozemo biti u kontaktu ako budes hteo..

  • @Xomep182 E ekstra!

Ostavio sam ti u poruci moj info pa da se dogovorimo :D

  • Do you think that Rise Against knows that "Thrusted" isn't gramatically correct XD

I love the guitar in this song.

Great band :) Been blasting them all Day, can't wait to see them on the fourth.

  • themightychickens hates kentucky XD

  • themightychickens= my rise against supplier

my rise against supplier= best. channel. ever.

    *subscribed* :D

  • should have put " teh" in your name , would have been EVEN MOAR badass ! xD

  • I can listen to this song 20 times in a row and love it just as much the 20th time and I did the 1st.

  • Most of you haven't heard nearly as much rap as I've heard. About 70 percent of the rodios stations have either rap or hip-hop. One station has to play every other genres than rap and hip-hop. Then there's another station that plays '70's music. Trust none of you know the shit they play here.

  • Thanks for the upload!

  • In a world of Rap, Pop and all that other crap, watching the heads turn while i'm BLASTING Rise Against in my car, is truly priceless. ;-)

  • @xROGUExONEx21 You're an idiot. I doubt you've even heard a hip hop song in your life.

  • @AEgamesFtw if you havnt heard at least one hip hop song you really need to get out of your moms basement. and tell me how he is an idiot for stating an opinion?

  • @doubledudes1 What the fuck are you talking about. I said I doubt he has ever heard a hip hop song not "I doubt I've ever heard a hip hop song"

  • @AEgamesFtw i know -.-

  • Now i want to listen to "it's alright" by 311

  • who finds this is the best group of the world push the button right there --->

  • @thexdeath3

you do realize you are pointing to the like, dislike and spam button

so i am giving you a dislike and spam because you sir are a thumbs up whore

  • When I hear this song all I can think of is Battlefront and I'm in the ice caves fighting droids.

  • :3

  • =3

  • can someone please explain who they are talking to? I'm not sure if they are talking to other people who have gone astray, or if they are talking to god because they feel like he is not here. In the beginning of the song i saw a reference to the crown of thorns that jesus wore, so i am unsure what their motive of the song is.

  • b-b-b-boner!

  • i love it when tim screams but its hard to find songs he dose nothin comes close to to the core (my fave song)

  • when God gave humans music this is what he had in mind..

  • @dinkydodgem93: I do believe that comment just made my day because I 110% agree. In my opinion, Rise Against is an example of truly great modern punk music. Correction: when God created punk, this is what he had in mind.

  • @alanihawaii123 haha brilliant:D

  • 0:27=awesome

  • Please learn to spell "tow"

  • @Trololobotomizer are you well??

  • @fatescure Uh, what?

  • @Trololobotomizer it's "toe the line"... "toe" as in feel out the line with your toe to see where it is... it's a metaphor saying "we were on the same side" or "we agreed"... why you trolls gots to be trolls??

  • @fatescure Are you fucking stupid or something? It's not like "tow the line" is a well known expression of anything... *overwhelming sarcasm*

  • @Trololobotomizer k you don't have to be an ass about it, i understand your point without your trolling, and idc too much about your attempting on trolling me... it's "toe the line"... gety over it

  • @Trololobotomizer Dear mr. fuckwit, the prober idiom is TOE THE LINE, now gtfo you lousy waste of space.

Nobody's talking about towing any fucking lines. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE.

  • Every time I hear that scream in this song I get goosebumps... It makes me think about life a lot.

  • @justice5150studios: When I hear other screamers, it's just noise to me, but when Tim does it, it's so....different. You can not only hear but actually *feel* the emotion from what he's saying, and in a way, it's absolutely beautiful because there's melody to it. Another thing is that Tim's scream voice sounds natural, not forced, like this is what his voice is used to doing. There are so many things that set Rise Against apart from other bands, and I think this is on of them. RA FOREVER! <3

  • @alanihawaii123 I know what you mean, they are the ONLY band I can love or even like the scream of. Literally.

  • I love the tone of Tim's voice in this song. Somehow it's different, and in a weird way it's vulnerable, especially in the chorus. Still a little bit soft compared to the older stuff, but still amazing just cause it's Rise Against. =P

  • @themightychickens

    i love you *subscribed*

  • i love how Rise Against doesn't just sing about girls when it comes to personal subjects. Rise Against is probably my musical Idol, that or the seatbelts. Real Folk Blues is awesome!

  • greatest song by rise against and one of the greatest songs ever

  • Isn't this song about thier band member who left?

  • @willroggero o my god y do u care like i said its fucking music y does it matter. go ride your moms dick u fucking cunt and go die u lil bitch

  • @emokid24242 :( man ur a bit mean? whatever you dont phase me

  • @willroggero yo srry if i sound like a dick im just saying people need to listen to the fucking music iits there for a reason not to sit there and got wtf does it mean

  • @emokid24242 Meaning is there for a reason. The passion in punk is as centric as the music itself. The passion and the messages of songs drive the music. Punk is about feeling and purpose.

  • Comment removed

  • @emokid24242 omg...

You the "Torrets Guy" arnt you?

seriously, RA is about meaning, and thats what their fans look for, meaning...

there, i answered ur rhetorical question ligitamently,

    have a nice life, emokid

  • @emokid24242

god you're the biggest fucking idiot i've ever saw. and i've been on the internet for a long time.

  • @emokid24242 Damn emos. Taking frustrations out on YT comments.

  • @emokid24242 The songs have lyrics for a reason!! If Rise Against wanted people to "just listen" to it, they would write instrumentals.

  • this song is so awesome

  • hey TMC in your opinion which song from rise against would be your fav

  • @50dollasmack That would be Torches

  • @themightychickens close one but i think black masks and gasoline is better but by far there best album

  • @themightychickens i gotta say i semi agree lol my fav song is close to torches though dear ringer lol give me my anarchist feeling lol :D

  • @themightychickens FUCK YES! I love torches. I wish tims voice had that bite to it. Like in RPM, but I guess everyones voice changes. Look at Alx rose from Guns N Roses:/

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET !!!!!!!!!

  • best band ever! <3333333 cant describe how good they are!! ruined all other music for me cuz they dont even compare!! tto how great rise against is!

  • best band ever! <3333333 cant describe how good they are!!

  • Ha, I'm not at all religious I go to church every 2-3 months apart. Sometimes not at all. For me it's like, "Hey susie, have you seen Grandmother Meggie? Um, she died like two months ago, you weren't invitied because remember you called her an old bat at the breakfast."

  • This is my complete favorite song by them!! Actually I love all their songs!

  • Maybe because I was just watching a show about it, but the lyrics remind me of Special Forces. The first two stanzas being about marching/sailing away, midnight sun and covered tracks being about the stealth they use. Whereabouts unknown being the secrecy of where their missions are. I see your face in the sights, I hesitate being describing the dilemma of shooting someone, and long for the moment our silence is broken expresses how much they want to tell their families what happened but cant.

  • great band with great songs with great meanings

  • At 3:40 I think it says F***in and then something

  • @Caleb7557 Its forgiven listen again

  • at the very start of the song...just after the intro, said "tainted crown of thorns". are they talking about christ?....and second question....TMC, can you give me a phrase regarding this song's message thanks!!

  • @Shikamaru381 I'd like to take back my previous statement about this not being about Chris, because I believe it might be.

Yes, the tainted crown of thorns refers to Jesus, but don't take it literally. "Sworn to a tainted crown of thorns." I believe he means that whoever the song is about has sworn to his purpose as if it was religious, since religious people often tend to be impossible to convert to another religion --- impossible to convert to another path.

  • It might also have something to do with the band Last of the Believers, which Chris went to form after he left Rise Against. (He's now in a band called Nations Afire, and they're quite good to be honest)

I have put a link in the comment to a site which has many interpretations of the song, you should take a look there.

  • awesome song!

  • To go off of TMC's comment, you can't just say what a song is about and have it be true. Ever heard that one song? You know, "Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday to you.." That one. Yeah, it's about the war in Iraq. Want to know why? It's because I said so my good sir.

  • @jmelbo17 You'd better have good reason backing up what you think it's about or people will mark your comments as spam.

  • I have two computer classes in a row and nothing to do in either of them so I've been trolling your videos since the semester start. Hope you don't mind

  • hi i dont know the singers name (start listan to rise against 30minutes ago) but he sounds like dexter (the offspring) and he´s great :D

  • @bestswedish Tim McIllrath.

  • Comment removed

  • Well, I believe songs don't HAVE to be about one specific thing. It can be interpreted many different ways. (Of course, it has to be reasonable.)

  • @TheFlarbar I think song writers, Tim in this case, write a song with one meaning. They don't write songs and say well it can be about this, or this, or this. People interpret it differently, but it is usually incorrect.

  • nice song :D

  • Here's my interpretation of the song: Group A and Group B were once friends, or @ least could understand each other. Then Group A did something that confused & scared Group B. Group B was so frightened that they began to hate Group A & tried to destroy it for a long time. Now Group B is realizing why Group A did what it did. They're trying to make amends for what they did.

  • Isn't it about Chris?

  • @jmelbo17 It's an easy conclusion to draw, but I somehow doubt it really is about Chris. Chris chose to leave because of the exhaustion from touring, not because there were any internal fights, as the lyrics might suggest.

  • @themightychickens Well yeah, but I guess i was leaning towards the song meaning that they miss him and they wish he would come back. Not that they were fighting or anything. I don't know. I guess it's just the universal thought that it might have something to do with Chris. So many questions I have for Tim

  • What it is about is up to the listener.

  • @TheFlarbar So if you want it to be about rape, it's about rape?

    Get out of here...

  • RA is the best

  • i luv em i agree wth all of u so ya xD u got the best lyrics btw n every song :)

    awesome

  • gogogo Riser. the only band that know which words use.

yaya their songs have a strongh mean

  • ugh nobody can see that this is not ONLY a great band with great music....they have MEANING...theyre music isnt just to be "rocked out" too..they have passion and..meaning.

  • Well, except the all the metalheads and pop girls that idolize these guys, you're wrong. Among every fan of them that has got a bit more brains than a 15 year old, they love them because of the meaning of their music.

  • correction... MOST OF* the metalheads that idolize these guys love them because of the meaning of their music. ;)

  • sorry, didn't realize how old that comment was...

  • @TheWallaceA7X "we'd rather have 100 people listen to our music, than to have 1 person buy it" -rise against

  • @TheWallaceA7X You forgot to mention 'meaning'.

  • this vid has only been veiwd a little less than 2000 times

    tht sux

they dont know wat they r missing

  • UMG sucks and this song rocks^^

  • @xXaduseileisXx The Unwarner Music Group doesn't suck. It's their evil counterpart, the WARNER Music Group, that sucks.

  • @TheFlarbar UMG means Universal Music Group...

  • Does anyone else think it sucks that the guys who posted this video isn't allowed to watch it because UMG is blocking him from doing so?

  • If I'm not logged in to my account, I'm not allowed to watch it, but if I am logged in, I can of course :o

And only this account... I've got another one a bit newer, and I can't watch the video from it.

  • Rise Against has more motivation and spirit than Tenacious D, whom i realize kinda suck now

  • damn i wish i could kill every famous band that isnt good for rise against to get more famous

check out other bands tim has been in

    the killling tree

    baxter

    88-fingers louie
