Ethiopians air lines only star alliance member and also we order 40 planes and currently we got more than 50 planes and we have more than 80 destinations so we r #1 best airlines in Africa continent
Air Algeria and Air Tunisia what the hell, these two suck so much, they own small planes no triple 7 no 747 and no 7E7 ordered plus north african airlines are known to have one of the worst on board service in the world!
@MrTunisair A320 and A330 sucks, the only airplanes that could be considered as successful for airbus are a340 and a380...So my opinion is still the same, Tunism or whatever called air algeria or tunisia sucks !
Just calm down it's well known fact South Africa and Egypt Air are the best air lines in Africa with regards to how old the airlines are, also they are the only two airlines in Africa with full Star Alliance membership.
I have flown with Egypt Air & i must say i wouldn't even rate it in the top 10 when it comes to it's service! they may have over 60 fleets but crap service! i would never fly with Egypt Air!
@minoytoty Royal Air Maroc is officially/obviously the #1, check your sources, it's the only African airline to have the Boeing 787 dreamliner, the only one on north Africa to have Boeing 747 with the largest number of destinations worldwide and also the fleet, etc...
And how the hell Tunis Air, Air Algeria, Egypt Air appearing on the top 5 ? you must be kidding, right ?
@JLoveyeah They are obligated to give the award for differenr airline or give it at least a great position, to ameliorate the level of the comagny for more better things. It does mean nothing anyway. Like for example Qatar Airways is all time 5 star airline, but it doesn't mean it's the best in middle east. I dislike it.
@JLoveyeah Royal Air Maroc is the best and it's getting better year after year, being the only African airplane to have B 747 on north Africa, and the only African airline to have B 787 with more great achievements as you already said, this proves RAM is better without even thinking. I consider Tunis Air as the worst airline in North Africa, However it peaks higher than some better airlines sometimes, it doesn't make any sense to people though cause eveything is clear.
@TheXDiscreet Check your facts. Ethiopian Airlines was the first african airline to order B 787s and they have ordered 10 with 2 options while RAM has 5 orders and 1 option.
@Ozbamba RAM ordered the boeing 787 since 2009, before EA, then the reason why EA has more B787 than RAM, because Ethiopia is so far away than so many of its destinations, they normally bought the 10 airplanes to use them for the long flights. That's not everything, RAM has larger fleet, more destinations, and it is one of 3 airlines which are the principal airlines of Africa including SAA and EA. RAM has 4 subsidiaries, 3 of them are other official Moroccan airlines, while EA has none of them.
@minoytoty have you got sources proving this "official" ranking ? I agree for SAA being number one but I'm kinda reluctant about Air Algeria being in a third position...
@minoytoty next time, you need to clarify which year are you talking about, like for example Air Algerie had no place amongst the top 10 last year, but it was # 5 in 2009 while Royal Air Maroc was the # 1 of 2009.

@TheXDiscreet Having a b747 or B787 doesn't mean anything. An airline will buy planes which suits them best.

@JLoveyeah Btw, I think Egypt Air is one of the best, and Royal Air Maroc is way better.
