I am a student at a conservative baptist college. When a gay rights group came to my school a police line was set where they could not cross for their protection. I saw so much hatred, heard so many slurs and shouting, some people threw things at the protesters. I decided I could not openly sit and do nothing so I crossed the line and joined the protestors. I learned later that I could have been expelled for doing this. I am now the only straight member of an underground LGBT group on campus.

I don't judge those who are.. and I think it's unfair to assume that the entire religious population is this way. What hurts me so much is that so many people say God is against homesexuals. I never have or will understand this. In the Bible it says that a man shall not lie with another man and so forth, but I believe that you can't help who you love and who you're attracted to. I personally am not gay, but so what if others are?
