Sincerest thanks for uploading this movie. It is a largely forgotten classic and I simply
can't understand why it is not on DVD in the US. Would love to see it digitally remastered and perhaps on Blue-ray. (It is this movie's 30th anniversary, as hard as THAT is to believe.)
Meanwhile, you have done a great and very kind service for people like me, who truly love this movie! Thanks again!
Thanks for posting! Frankly, this is actually better quality than the crappy DVD I bought online. I wish they'd release the full unedited, remastered DVD of this great miniseries. As a southerner I feel this is a terrific depiction of the south, poltics and racism...and they don't hold back. Not to mention an excellent study of a serial killer. Excellent performances from all the actors southern and non-southern.
I been wanting to see this again for years, thank you! First saw it on superstation tbs back in the early to mid 80s sometime and ive never seen it anywhere online or dvd rentals till now on youtube.
One of the greatest mini series of all time featuring an allstar cast. Chiefs should go down in history as a movie with one of the best endings ever written. Kudos! to everyone involved in the success of this movie!
@teewoods AGREED! The very ending of the entire series was so beautiful, it always brought tears to my eyes. I was only 2 when this first aired, but my father taped it, and as I got older and watched it over and over, I always enjoy it. I wonder is it out on dvd now. I hope so. Everyone needs to see this, maybe they'll learn something.
Brilliant series! I was just 10 when this was on......but i still remember the names as clear as day. No name ever seared its way into my memory like Foxy Funderburke.........its pretty hard to forget, I think you'll agree. He was the reason I didnt hitchhike too much when i was young!! Probably saved my sorry ass!
How good is Wayne Rogers? And always under-rated, too. When he left M*A*S*H, that show just wasn't the same. And yet Rogers' body of work is surprisingly small. I wonder who he pissed off in Hollywood?

If you want to see how Hollywood can totally screw-up your life, read "After Midnight: the Life and Death of Brad Davis". Strong stuff!!

Enjoyed this movie when it came out in the early eighties. Old commericals were a treat.
