Seriously. Anybody who would belittle this is full of it. I can understand how somebody might not light Claire de Lune or his serial work but even that has wonderful fruits if it is played with an understanding of its melodic content though your ear must be able to comprehend abstract harmony and dissonance. I think Gould understood Shonbergs piano pieces better than anyone else that I've heard.

indeed, Schoenberg was a poor componost(¿?) but surely he was an enormous composer... music will always be in debt with him.
even if he just had composed this beauty, that alone would have been epic. fortunately we have 50 opus from schoenbergs genius.
