I had a bit of a fender bender when someone backed into my car, got a new headlight assembly. Man was there a difference between brand new and my old yellowed pitted headlight. So I went down to AutoZone, got this kit for $25. Does it look good as brand new now? No. Does it look better than buying a $450 headlight assembly to match the other $450 head light assembly? Yes. Perhaps spending 3-4 hours of wetsanding and buffing it can look good as new. But with 2 hours, it looks good e'nuff.
I tried a kit which didn't work very well. So, I bought a new lens from the dealership, then watched a YouTube video on how to install it. It took me an hour. I would recommend this course of action if you're even slightly handy with car repairs. The kits don't provide a lasting solution.
@Bowman899 No need for this crap...just buy Plastix. Its about $5 and it clears them up without the drill and ball. I cleared up some nasty oxidized lenses that had thick yellow. Now they are clear as glass.
@agenthelios1 Some chumps need the sand paper and other shiz for cases with stone dints or chips and surface cracking that needs sanding...I'm just sayin'
These kits do work... Just keep in mind that they won't stay clear for long unless you clear coat or use something like 3M's protestant film.
Plastic lenses are coated with a UV resistant clear coat at the factory but it's only good for 5-6 years until it starts to break down. If you just polish lights and don't protect them then you leave unprotected plastic exposed to the elements.
This kit is legit! Check out the "Vehicle Detailing" episode of Motorz TV to see how to use Mothers Polishes headlight restoration kit from start to finish with the amazing before and after differences!
This worked fine and you get more then this video shows, you also get some sandpaper like pads for badly damaged headlight.
