The fact is that you have pro producers using FL, Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase and Reason and the only thing that sets them apart from everyone else is that they have the skills and talent to get where they are.

Many producers use it for composing because the piano roll is the best of any DAW (deadmau5 and others do this) but many also solely use it as their production DAW. FL Studio is looked down upon for many reasons but most of it comes from the old school producers who still think that FL studio is limited (because the old versions were) and think its still called fruity loops... I can't see myself ever changing from FL I got everything I need!

@eerrrrrrfolks I don't understand why people hate on a certain DAW.Yes, some are easier to use than others, or more useful for a certain type of music, but in a very broad sense, most mainstream DAW's used today get the same job done. I've used many different DAW's and the only reason I use Ableton Live now is because of it's extremely fast learning curve and easy to navigate and use. I have also used FL studio, and beside Ableton, that would probably be my second choice.

For me, i find Ableton easier, because of the way you can arrange clips and swap/change any sounds you want whenever and the layout/arrangement of it is very convenient. FL Studio seemed to make the process longer for me. but to each their own, the DAW doesn't matter people. it's creativity and practice that matters !

@merlen424 I disagree with IFuxWithHouse, Ableton Live has MASSIVE amounts of potential, because of how few limitations you actually have if you know what you're doing. Along with Cubase and Reason, which are both excellent DAW's. Whereas with FL, you're limited greatly, but it still has great potential as well (Again, If you know what you're doing. Hence, Porters career). Frankly, Porter was quite literally making music out of his moms basement, so FL was all he could afford.
