  • LOL.

H/H combo's with a Unidyne hung through the handle.

    Them were the days! :D

  • I wonder if so much bass guitar (just listen to the start) has ever made its way onto vinyl ---- some serious playing by the bassist!

  • Holy Cow!

First got this on a compilation album called Hi Energy, with such songs as My Lucky Number's One by Lena Lovich and Hit Me With Your Rythm Stick by Ian Dury.

Unfortunately, I adopted the lead singer's kicking dance in every song I've ever danced to since.

Lol, poor dance-floor fuckers deserved it anyway.

  • My first girlfriend danced to this when I was in her bedroom, playing it on some crappy old vinyl machine. You don't forget stuff like that.

  • @kamerar No, you never forget that. You die with that image in your mind and it eases the passing. I've got a few of those.

  • GET IN THERE BOYS AHOY !!!!!!!

  • saw them -1980- they were fab

  • Big Country were never as good as The Skids!

  • God bless ya Stuart you were an inspiration to me and many other guitarists <3

  • Christ,i forgot how much of a knobhead Richard Jobson was!

  • R.I.P Stuart Adamson! Brilliant!

  • 1.34 to 1.54 just like big country, stuart you are badly missed pal - brilliant track takes me right back to happy days

  • Richard could easily pass as a young Ray Winstone

  • Who the FUCK asked for a fucking advert for a film? oh please show me a trailer to a girley film about a wedding when I asked for the Skids video. YOU TUBE. YOU SOLD YOUR SOUL. THE DEVIL HAS A NICE SCALY PECKER FOR YOU TO SUCK!!

    Hicks. X

  • was at school wi Stuart..... guid lad.... well missed

  • Jimmy rock.

  • Bradford City used this tune when teams took the field before kick off and before they sold their ground name to corporate sponsors.

  • Burbage Carnival Disco in a tent on Britannia Road. Around 1979-80. Superb.

  • That fuckin' rocked!

  • If i could dance to this all way through like Jobson way i used too 30 years ago id be a happy man.Still makes me dance round kitchen.Top tune way ahead of their time man. One Anthem of Punks best songs.

  • I was almost 20 years old when the Skids released this song.... Even now at almost 52 years of age I just cannot sit still.... This song is still FABULOUS!!!!!

    RIP William Stuart Adamson

  • rip stu

  • Paul Weller on drums.

  • R.I.P. God always takes away the dearest first.

  • One of the great intros

  • Stewart Adamson from Big Country on guitar.

    R.I.P Stewart.

  • @magicbus144 - yeah,,he shook hands with me once just cos i told him I played guitar..didn't wash it for a week!! - the 'talented one' in the band..better singer than Jobson too!

  • @ThisCharmingBhoy I think there are good bands still.Problem is that big labels just want a "marketable product" which normally means, they look right,do as theyre told, dont offend people or rather OFFEND people but in the right way, cant sing & are prepared to do exactly as they are told!

There is genrally though a lack of originality.Maybe RnR is just running out of steam? After all there are only so many guitar chords & variations! lol

  • @ThisCharmingBhoy Its a great riff. Do you remember the B-side to this? Im sure its called Soap Stars. I remember loving the "Albert Tatlock" part of the chorus!

  • charltonathletic100 More like CHARLTON PATHETIC!

  • Somehow this fuckin rules! .. It's not too soft like some of the Power pop bands, but its not shitty like some underground punky New Wave bands Ive known from the era (77-82)

  • Shame Jobson turned into a snotty Tory Squire WANKER....He bought a house next to a farm & complained about the smell...What a TWAT!

  • this brings back memories,i went to school club , was talking to a mate who was doing the lighting for school disco. He had a load of chain up in the lighting loft so i asked to borrow it and started doing the pogo to this very tune then got booted out of the school lol mad times

  • These lads are Brilliant, and sorry to say had not heard of them until a friend sent this video, thanks Kevin.

  • @gamma500 did you get much of an echo?

  • 30 + years or more after buying this album his guitar playing is still a revelation. The drums, bass and Jobson's singing are top notch as well. The sound is so full for a three piece (instruments) even though the guitar has studio over dubs. Still amazing. RIP Stuart.

  • My husband grew up with Stuart Adamson in Crossgates, Fife!!
