A few years ago american scientists found documents in the villege where buddha was born, they noticed that buddha was a realy nice person who was helping everyone and gaves money. Before his death he said: "When I die, please never pray to me or make any figures of me you have your own religions". @arzermey And I can agree with the last part, most definitely. I used to pray five times a day hoping I would feel, hear, or see something but I felt nothing. It just felt like I was talking to myself. I don't know what was supposed to happen but nothing seemed any different when I wanted to truly believe and when I didn't. @arzermey Yea I know what tauhid is and I did pray with full intention of hoping someone was there. Unfortunately, I feel no more like someone is watching me than if I'm not praying. I then began to research other religions and realized they're all the same thing. Sure details are different but they all ask me to believe something is there that I can't sense at all. With thousands of different honest believers; I have no idea who everyone is talking to.

I have no reason to believe he's really there. Regardless, I never "feel" like someone is watching me. What does that feel like? @arzermey Knowledge. I seek to understand it and why people believe it. I find it fascinating that so many people not only depend on it but make up so many different kinds. It teaches me something amazing about the human mind and how it tries to make sense of something it doesn't understand. The unknown, like questions of purpose or death frighten us so we cling on to the first thing that makes us feel better about the world but that doesn't necessarily make it true.

@arzermey Please explain in detail what that verse supposedly predicted. What part exactly of embryonic development is being described here. The act of hanging could relate to the umbilical cord which may resemble something needing to hang. It could also be analogous to fruit which they can see develop in a very similar way and "hang" from a tree. The simple term of "hanging" and forming from flesh and bones doesn't really say much about the actual details discovered through science.

@arzermey The word "alaqa" doesn't explain anything. It's just a word that can only be made to connect and look like a prediction AFTER it is discovered. It wasn't helpful before we found out for ourselves so it only lends to the idea that the verse is vague enough to be true no matter what happens. Also, I've only heard of one scientists saying that and that doesn't say anything about the rest of the community.
@arzermey Still, it doesn't mean I think believers are stupid. My best friend is a devote Christian and my parents are faithful Muslims. I respect all believers and nonbelievers alike for for trying to seek truth. And maybe they're right and they know or experienced something I have not. Have you ever lied? stolen? lusted after someone? taken God's name in vain? hated someone? If so you have sinned before a Holy God. Your sin demands punishment in a place called Hell. But God is rich in mercy and grace so He sent His Son, Jesus (who is fully God and fully man) to die upon the cross for those sins. We broke the law He paid our fine. Chinese Buddhism (Zen) is only developed after Buddha, it was mixed idea of normal human teachers from time to time. If you really want to learm the original buddha theory and teaching, you have to learn from Burma or Srilanka.

A few years ago american scientists found documents in the villege where buddha was born, they noticed that buddha was a realy nice person who was helping everyone and gaves money. Before his death he said: "When I die, please never pray to me or make any figures of me you have your own religions". The people did what he said but only for a couple of years, after some years they build up figures of him and prayed to them until now.

I think you can't understand religion, yet I'll keep searching; Dionysus is the true pleasure but I can't tell if Dionysus (god of wine) exists. @arzermey And I can agree with the last part, most definitely. I used to pray five times a day hoping I would feel, hear, or see something but I felt nothing. It just felt like I was talking to myself. I don't know what was supposed to happen but nothing seemed any different when I wanted to truly believe and when I didn't. I then began to research other religions and realized they're all the same thing. Sure details are different but they all ask me to believe something is there that I can't sense at all. I have no reason to believe he's really there. Regardless, I never "feel" like someone is watching me. What does that feel like? It teaches me something amazing about the human mind and how it tries to make sense of something it doesn't understand. The act of hanging could relate to the umbilical cord which may resemble something needing to hang. It could also be analogous to fruit which they can see develop in a very similar way and "hang" from a tree. The simple term of "hanging" and forming from flesh and bones doesn't really say much about the actual details discovered through science.

@arzermey The word "alaqa" doesn't explain anything. It's just a word that can only be made to connect and look like a prediction AFTER it is discovered. It wasn't helpful before we found out for ourselves so it only lends to the idea that the verse is vague enough to be true no matter what happens. Also, I've only heard of one scientists saying that and that doesn't say anything about the rest of the community.

@arzermey Still, it doesn't mean I think believers are stupid. My best friend is a devote Christian and my parents are faithful Muslims. I respect all believers and nonbelievers alike for for trying to seek truth. And maybe they're right and they know or experienced something I have not. While that would be a little of unfair of god to reveal himself to others but not me, that's okay. I'll live my life with an open mind until I am convinced by god revealing himself to me or not.

@arzermey But I have read the Quran many times already and I know I have no faith because I am not convinced. I know everything about Islam and I know what Muslims BELIEVE about Allah but I don't know it to be true. If I knew it to be a proven fact than I would believe very easily. Unfortunately I don't know it as a fact. Maybe you know something that can prove to me that it is true above all the other claims from other religions. How do you know it is true?

I am just learning about Buddhism and it is very interesting! I want to learn more and more about it. I am very intrigued to walk this way of life! Already I'm starting to get rid of my belongings and paying off my debts to never incur new financial responsibilities.

Have you ever lied? stolen? lusted after someone? taken God's name in vain? hated someone? If so you have sinned before a Holy God. Your sin demands punishment in a place called Hell. But God is rich in mercy and grace so He sent His Son, Jesus (who is fully God and fully man) to die upon the cross for those sins. We broke the law He paid our fine. If we repent (turn from sin) and trust in Him alone for forgiveness we will be saved and given eternal life free. Only by faith in Christ.

Christians use idols, believe me on this because I used to be a Christian... No matter how you put it, they are idols. The Muslims? At least they don't beat their children like the Bible says to. Chinese Buddhism (Zen) is only developed after Buddha, it was mixed idea of normal human teachers from time to time. If you really want to learm the original buddha theory and teaching, you have to learn from Burma or Srilanka.
