Living in the states all my life I have never heard these guys (except pictures of matchstick men) until today. Jesus Christ!! These guys kick ass! They are my new favorite old band!
@JFredUK Yeah, I researched them and not only were they great then but I find their current stuff great as well. Youtube is the best thing that ever happened to me in terms of my musical knowledge.
I suppose it depends which way you look at it. Given that the band were hitting the top five soon thereafter, I think 'In My Chair' was, comparatively speaking, a bit of a flop. But when you consider that the song received no air-play, it did rather well. Regardless, 'In My Chair' is a Quo classic!
Great groove, great riff, great look and a great time to love the Quo. Wow was we fortunate to be there in the late 60's to mid 70's. A fine time to be into Rock, the peak of freak.
Yep should have been a hit

A truly great song, but poorly mixed. I can hardly hear John on the drums.

A bit like "Canned Heat"

And Mike / Frank still has his critics. (I think he was still Mike at this time). But I think he's a great guitarist, then and now.

I still don't understand how Americans never figure out such a good band!

@greshamweed You've got a fair bit of catching up to do, then! Would you believe that they're still going?

Francis looks a bit Cobain-esqe. Great song, reminds me a bit of Canned Heat. I think they were fans.

@IThinkYouLookLarvely
I was thinking of Canned Heat while watching the video...it doesn't sound like them but puts you in mind of them.

They looked the biz !! and sounded brill !
They were ahead of the field in many ways !
Their best stuff was from 1970 to 1972/73 .
When to changed to 3 chords or 12 bar blues they had awsome success ... but earlier stuff was much better !

I wouldn't call fourteen weeks in the charts a massive flop.
STataw 3 years ago
Yes...I suppose "massive flop" is an exaggeration..."flop" would've been a better description given that it didn't even make the top 20.
QuoTime 3 years ago
But that's only because the World wasn't ready for the new raw Quo. They stuck to their guns and now this is a classic.
