If you like this version you should have been there in 2006. I was in Brisbane my home city at ANZ stadium where they closed the concert with this song and it was magnificent. I kind of wanted to hear it again in 2010 at Suncorp Stadium on the 8th of Dec but they closed with Moment of Surrender which was still good. To bad there was tons of traffic.

When my gramps died, he was a few oceans away and I couldn't be there. For some reason I couldn't cry about it. I took my friend Jared to the Irish pub down the street, here in the Midwest, where a man played a guitar and sang songs like Finnegan's Wake, etc. A happy mourning feeling.

Actually this concert was done only a few days after his father's passing. The story goes that the band asked if he wanted to postpone the Slane concerts, but he said he needed it at the moment.

I can't say enough about this song and of this gig. Truly amazing! Bono lost his father (may he RIP) only days before this gig and he pulls it off. I'd have been heart broken. It's just an emotional performance. Bono also lost his mother when he was just fourteen btw. I Will Follow is one of the songs about her.
