  • What beauty what a voice .

  • The 80s truly had fantastic music such this one... It was so different from any other decade.

My mp3 player had 705 80s songs hehe including this one, which was very hard to get!

  • Another Canadian 80s band. Boy there were a lot that came out.

  • Louise Reny (sp?) was one of the most beautiful women in 80s music videos. I remember her most fondly from the Hold Me Now song from 1988 or so.

  • This is one of my all time favvorite songs, not just from the eighties but for always. Love the sone, the band is awesome: I wish they would put out a new albumn.

  • Think Gwen Stefani should cover this song

  • Thanks for keeping this song up.

  • one to one were a good band what ever happen to them does anybody no lett me no ok

  • Ya they were locals in Ottawa, and attended school with my wife. I loved their music, but they seemed to disappear, kind of a One-hit-wonder.

  • i've been looking for this song forever but didnt know who sang it. Thanks!!

  • ah the perfect mid 80's makeout music :-p

  • I always loved this song but never new who it was that sang it. The chorus is fantastic, always makes me feel happy to be alive. Sounds a little like Roxette to me. Thanks for posting this tune, love it. And their Canadian.

  • Great song and an all time favorite band of mine!!No one sounds like them... the lovely and talented Louise Reny is simply amazing and Leslie Howe can do no wrong!! Thanks for sharing this as it brings back so many wonderful memories of listening to CHML even though I lived hundreds of miles away in NJ!!

  • Grandiose, awesome, brilliant, magnificent period.

  • Thanks for sharing this.I love the band and hope that Louise and Leslie are doing well and enjoying things these days!!! If only I knew where I would be able to write fan letters to them....

  • I remember hearing this on CKEY when I was a kid.

  • In 1986 I lived, in a town house complex in Ottawa off of St.Laurent Blvd, moved in there with 2 other Buddies, we had a blast...and low and behold one day our Nieghbour came out and she was a crazy hot blonde..and behind her was a guy with Jet black hair carrying instruments...they told us who they were and I was amazed !!, it was One to One !, she was very nice, and he was pretty cool too !! well 26 yrs later..i still love thier music...!! Grant in Orillia !!

  • @Gamer4Ever23 Great story man.

  • Louise Reny and Leslie Howe (a.k.a. One to One) discovered Alanis Morissette back around 1990...in fact, Leslie Howe was involved with the production of Alanis' very first two albums (self-titled, "Now Is the Time"), which were then distributed by UMG Canada in association with Hot Mustard Records. The former album was a decent hit, but the latter album bombed. Alanis would not have a truly big hit until 1995, and the rest was history.

  • one of the best Pop songs of the 80's

  • This was a great song from a terrific album. Kim Wilde, Pat Benatar, Lee Aaron, geez.. no shortage of great female lead singers in the 80s.

  • I love this song

    beautiful woman

HIGH ENERGY, ITALO DISCO, SPACE SYNTH, SYNTH POP forever

    que siga la fiesta

    maravilllosos 80's y 90's

    thanks for posting

  • she is gorgeous and cute to boot :)

  • (yeah, I'm Canadian, too).

Ummmmm.....what's with the different edit in this version (e.g. different guitar solo and the word 'he/him' instead of the original 'she/her')?

Great, wonderful, powerful, melodic song -- unfortunately the video itself is nothing special.....

  • @Aryfh If Louise Reny is singing the song then it sounds better with he/him, don't you think?

  • @cuteguyfromcanada

Either way, I like it - just wondering why the original version wasn't used....no one seemed to mind the original when Louise sang about a 'she/her'.....

  • swietne bardzo swietne w calosci

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh so close yet so far

DOES ANYONE HAVE THE 12 INCH MIX OF THIS???????????

AND WOULD THEY POST IT PLZ

  • ale super...

  • what a happy song,i'm glad they're Canadian

  • This album was re-released on CD this year. I just ordered myself a copy after wanting one for the last 15 years. Many of you had read my original comment from a couple of years ago when i had found a link online of someone who had copied a tape to CD & had made a link to download it. The link was blocked not long after that. And well the wait is over. "Angel (both versions)" & There was a time" is on the market again. Something about the sound of this album still sounds fresh to my ears.

  • WHAT HAPPEN TO THIS BAND???

  • @SuperHandsam

Tragically, they were both the victims of an unfortunate baking incident.

    RIP One To One.

  • girls has such a sexy style in the 80s

  • Holy shIte! I haven't heard this since High school. Hell maybe it was played at my grad.

  • found a demo cd in texas and a full cd in tokyo, japan. bought both. my wife thought i was crazy.

  • one of my all time favourites. huge crush in the 80's she was awsome.

  • Why isn't it on iTunes?

  • I've been looking forever for these guys' Do You Believe in Love...has anyone seen it? All I can find is Huey Lewis and (ugh) Cher's versions.

  • @jasonpfahy this song is on their second lp. shoot me a private message and i'll get it to you.

  • great band and song...I've been trying to find another sone that got a lot of airplay..."Black on White"

  • @vinniwinni hey, they had several more hits, "Memory Lane" and "There was a Time" were two of the others that are coming to me (and i know there were a couple of others) and "Angel in my Pocket" had 2 different versions, the Angel is male in one of them and female in the other, but otherwise the same song.

i had most of them until, sadly, my hard drive crashed on me. :(

  • for my love DAVE JETTA! i LOVE YOU BABY!!! <33

  • ...I LOVE ONE TO ONE!! I think that they are ONE OF THE BEST 80's synth-pop artists ever!!! They never had a hit in the USA, but I don't care, they will always be #1 in my heart & mind. Wonderful vocals, brilliant synths, a catchy as hell melody & a wonderful sing a long to chorus. I also love, "There Was A Time". I have both records on 12" vinyl!! *****STARS!! Gary in PA USA.

  • @gary56victor57

Hi Gary! Visit my chanel and you can hear a new Mix of the smash Hit "There Was A time" by One To One!

    Gretings from Germany!(MickeyintheMix)

  • @gary56victor57

I can really appreciate hearing from an American folk that he loves this fabulous Canadian group. They're natives of Ottawa in Ontario, did you know? The singer is pretty, she reminds of my girlfriend when she was in her early twenties, she had the same looks as her; slim, sexy long-legged with small breasts. ;-D

  • Does anyone remember when Les and Louise were playing around ottawa in a band called Mainstream?

  • @duke3914

I do duke, I'm from the Ottawa Valley, and my uncle played in several local bands, with other members of Mainstream. I followed them, even though I was a teenager.

  • Stop doing it. The best way to get people around you to hate this lovely song is to sing/hum it.

  • this song is cool. cant help but sing to it. guys at the factory where i work think im a fag. im married with a kid,buy they say eventually ill leave her and become a gay man. lol.

  • @mikeandcooper

Don't know who thumbed down your comment, but they're humourless assholes whomever they are. I think it's funny. Liking this song is most certainly a guilty pleasure. And the stuff you're saying is TOTALLY what other men would say to a guy singing this at work!

  • I'm gay and they say that one day I'll walk away with a woman.

  • Leslie Howe was a young Alanis Morrisette's lover (from age 14-19)

  • Anyone have the video for LOVE CHILD by them?

  • Ottawa Canada's response to Roxette!

  • I wish I still had the video of Leslie and Louise doing ROundabout at the CHS variety show ... she wore the leather pants she has on in There was a time. She was HOT then and she's HOT now.

  • they are nothing alike at all

  • Naw......Roxette was inspired by this. This came out '85, but Roxette started four years after, in 1989

  • A real classic. Oh all those high school days to remember.

  • There was a show on the CBC from the mid to late 80's called "Good Rockin' Tonight". I taped many many Cdn songs from this show.

  • @javelin1010 -this is slimshadee i remember it was hosted by stu jefferies

  • @javelin1010 WHO HOST THE SHOW...DAVID MUGGIGAN????

  • @javelin1010 I remember and used to also watch Good Rockin' Tonight..i did not own a vcr at that time but wished i had..it would have been great to have recorded a lot of those shows... I remember 'TU' (Stay With Me) the twin sister Canadian singing duo was scheduled to be on the show one night but I missed it...

  • one of my favorite can bands of the 80's, and to MR LESLIE HOWE when are u rematering the albums if u are doing it

  • they were one of my favorite canadian bands, so MR. LESLIE HOWEl when are we getting a remastered of all your albums

  • Take it with you Canada !!! I mean wow ! ...and she is beautiful Mrs Universe like !!!

  • my mommy used to sing this to me

  • I love this song ... any idea how I can download it on my IPOD?

  • If you are still looking for a way, download Real Player Sp, with Download This video feature, you are given the option of putting it on other devices.

  • I wish their music was on iTunes.

Come on iTunes Canada, this was a great band in the 80's up here!!!!!

  • try LImewire...there's tons of songs on it!

  • Nowhere to be found. You gotta torrent it. and even then!

  • I have to say that I've always been a fan of One to One, but why did they have to take on more of grunge style in the 90's?? They should've stuck with the pure pop that worked for them from 1985-1992. Does anyone have the video for "Peace of mind"? I'd really love to see that one. I have the "Imagine It" tape and I still think it's really good.

  • I love this song!!!!

  • swietny

  • zjawiskowe nagranie

  • One To One rules and both Leslie Howe and Louise Reny are and always will be important to me.Thier music has brought so much happiness.Angel In My Pocket was the perfect song for the perfect time....totally quintessential 1980's music!!!Thanks Louise and Leslie for One To One,Sals Birdland & Artificial Joy Club music!! I will be a fan forever and continue to keep your music alive!!!

  • lol shes my aunt... this is so cool.

  • Louise is the greatest and this song makes me cry thinking of how great times were back when this came out.I have always been a fan of One To One & when she & Leslie were in Sals Birdland & Artificial Joy Club.I have lots of the promo stuff but was never able to get an autographed photo.I have a couple of the band pics hanging up in my room today!! Music really pales by comparison today and I keep the 80's alive & listen often to bands like One To One,Mr Mister,The Cars,Dan Fogelberg..take care!

  • nigdy ne slyszalam takiego nagrania !!!!!!!!! ewenement

  • 2 things came to mind. 1-They must be about 50 by now and 2-HOLY COW SHE HAS NO BOOBS!!

  • I think they are in the very late 40's and yes Louise was not gifted in the chest region but she did have a very cute face and a nice voice.

  • oh who cares if she doesn't have "american" boobs! Id rather listen to their sweet music and she is very pretty without having to get implants to impress males of the world!

  • ha! thats the very first thing i thought too

  • Great song from the 80s.

I have the 12" single of this song. Hard to find, but it's got an interesting break in the middle with a spoken part.

  • Is that the really long version? There was a video for it on YouTube (just the same 2 or 3 stills over and over, actually), but it was removed some time ago.

  • Could be - the running time on the 12" single's label says it's 8:14 in length.

  • Yep, that's the one. I like that version, too. It's a shame it was removed from YouTube.

  • Black on White is my all time favorite song. Does anyone know where to purchase it? It came out around 1985 or 86. Anyone know what album it came from?

  • Forward Your Emotions, i still have a work cassette tape of it haha. It came out around the time just prior to CDs taking over lol.

  • Hey scrapmachines, you read my mind, I'm looking for the same song, great song by One to One, for some reason I can't find it anywere. Hopefully someone can track it down

  • i believe there was never a cd released for forward your emotions. not that i've ever heard of anyway.

  • Always loved this song and couldn't find it anywhere...thanks for posting this video!!

  • I always wondered where this band hailed from? Are they German?

  • Canadian

  • Thanks for the info! Im Canadian and didnt even know about their origin! Wish we could produce as many great bands as back in the days

  • what in heck are you talking about?

  • They're also the people who tried to make Alanis Morrisette into the next teeny bopper in the early 1990s.

  • This totally brings me back to my childhood! I have been looking for their cover of "LOve CHild". Can anyone upload it?

  • I used to be in love with this guy!!

  • i love i think its so sweet and i like that she refers to the angel as female"now shes mine" love it

  • The album version of this song refers to the angel in feminine terms. I wonder if the single was changed to make it more appealing to women and girls.

  • The album version i have & i am listening to in my old walkman right now says the lyric "He is forever mine"....i also have a version on an old cassette called "this is music" which features the single but with the lyric "She is forever mine" (not on the canadian release) & it sounds stripped down when compared to the instrumentation of the album version. I always thought the "She is forever mine" lyric & less lush mixed sound was used for the USA release of the single.

  • okay, first up: the band that did "Hold Me Now" was the Thompson Twins. And secondly, this song is so emblematic of the 1980s; it always reminds me of Christmas for some reason.

  • Wrong. This band also had a song by the same name, different song. Search it.

  • zum Glück wurde das Video wieder hochgeladen, warum es immer wieder von "youtube" entfernt wird , ist mir ein Rätsel. Mein Lieblingssong, nach fabrique - birds cry !!!!!!!!!

  • there going to make a rap version

  • It's really unfortunate that they disbanded - such a real shame because they were talented singers/songwriters - Not sure but think their other huge hit song was "Hold me now" in the mid/late 80's!!!

  • yay!

  • i still have this cassette tape haha, and it works! i used to be in love with her, normal fan love anyway.

  • Thank you so much for putting up the video. Somehow the chorus of the song turns my insides to Jelly each time. :(

    Thanks again.

  • Didnt think anyone was going to put this vid up! thanx!
