The 7.3 was discontinued because of emissions standards. 7.3 best diesel engine in a ford pickup and it's up there with cummins if you look after it properly.
i've got a 1/3 of the aftermarket parts you have and make only 30hp less.... hmm.. prolly cause of the difference in turbo sizes... the size is quite a leap from 7.3 to the 6.0s
well remember one thing 6.0's are more efficient engine im sure what i paid for my truck and what u paid for in your makes up for the savings in aftermarket parts, but 6.0 is the better engine in power hands down, then again u have a variable turbo 4 valves per cylinder and a lot more goodies
in all honesty though, i would rather have the 7.3l... i love my truck, but my dads 7.3l is just too sweet of a truck to not drive only b/c it's "not effecient".... the dang thing gets 24mpg highway.. mine gets 22... and i have aftermarket components... he has?? nothing... lol.. and his is a 4x4 with some decent sized tires. mines 4x2 with road tires.. lol
@pimpinitcj they are more efficient engines i never said stronger, they have more valves per cylinder, variable geometry turbo, they run more rpm , they have aluminum heads(do you kinda get it???) they come with more horsepower from stock
reconsider that are many more options out there for that truck, and only the white truck named snow white has worked well with that gt42, whatever u do strengthen your rods and consider head studs in all honesty with the best advice i can give you
should be 900 that dyno couldnt tell because of the fact that it cant read rpm so it cant calculate the torque but usually these size diesel motors do twice the amount of torque of what they have for horsepower
get rid of that diablosport and get a twildman chip or dptuner chip, they're the best for the 7.3s... i'm not an expert or anything but my guess would be a shade over 475 with stage 3's (238cc hybrids??) and upgraded h2e (i'm guessing the one from beans...)
