@HermesDo WTF is the fake tkd. ITF is the original, and is far more effective in self-defense. Spining 360 degree hook kicks dont work if somebody attacks with a knife. WTF 's kicks are more spectacular, that's all. and taekwon-do means the way of the feet and fist, and i barely see fists in WTF fights. No disrispect intended, just my opinion.

while other korean arts like itf taekwondo and tang soo do are similar to shitoryu and shotokan karate.

@HermesDo sorry, no fighting was intended at all. i was just stating my point of view. if your intersested, you should read A Killing Art, its a book about the history of all the taekwondo federations. as an ITF practitionner, i got more knowledge about the WTF and the other taekwondo federations. It's really a good book !

actualy it is but this is the sports part there are 2 types World Taekwondo Federation and The Internationla taekwondo federation the schools that follow WTF are more sports than anything and those that follow ITF are more martial arts based.

Iv'e been a practitioner of TKD for 8 years. And are affended when you call it not a martial art, what you are watching here is points sparring it is a game but there is a lot more to TKD than points sparring. I have recently moved into MMA and have found, and think that most real martial artests would agree, that all martial arts have alot of traditional (useless) aspects to them but whether fighting in the ring or being forced to defend yourself they are all very useful in there own way.

from watching this..I think the sudden death rule is fuckin korea up? It hurt to see that girl cry at the end... she probably trained for a lifetime. I think what is seperating korea and other countries like usa and iran is sports specific training. Lifting weights, plyometrics and the advances in that area. Haha..steroids perhaps? Its likely steroids and other performance enhancement drugs are in the sport tkd. Korea looks so natural and fluid. Other countries just seem stronger and quicker
