Good video, works well. You just need to show how to put it back together though, because I got stuck and had to take apart my other gun and figure it out from there. I put like 3 hrs easily into this project and in the end there was only a 5 foot difference.

I notice that alot of people are saying that removing the air restrictor in this video is causing alot of controversy. an easier and less damaging way is to just use pliers to break the 3 prongs holding the AR in place, and then use the hammer and screwdriver to break the last part.

To knock the air restrictor out, I'd recommend using a round file with a flat head, line it up with the air restrictor and knock all the black pieces out, then on the larger end, cut the inner circle bit out (when you get there you'll see), I used wire cutters and brute force, once you cut that out, all of the other pieces will fall out, then just cut the peg out with the cutters and file the struts flat - then regrease the tube, and epoxy the thin black part back in place - good luck! :D

@MikeReggie95 you can use the nail remover on the back of a hammer, just be sure not to put too much force on it and it should pop right out

@088ben I used a large flat head and only hit it a few times being sure not to pound it and it worked like a charm. I'd suggest that you be a little easier on it if you ever try to do this mod again :)

my A/R was very strong it didnt come out as easy as video....

so i took a drill to it and was very easy to remove the A/R and spring, drilled it right out very easy....

Be sure to remove all bits off broken plastic and lube well with WD40

@turbo355stroker It's better to use plumber or auto grease, it's thicker and stickier, provides a better seal, whereas WD40 is more of a degreaser, it will run off the parts and completely remove whatever grease they put on there in the first place, after a day you'll be firing with an un-greased, dry mechanism.

im not happy i tried to knock the air restricters out with a large philips screw driver just like the one you used and it completely wrecked the bolt so now i have a $45 nerf gun that is useless, does not work. im not happy. It did not break out as easy as yours did. im thinking a drill would have worked better. unless you did something else to the other end that you did not show us but mine did not work. any help would be appreciated thank you, because i am going to try again.

@088ben You just did it wrong. Agreed the "hammer and nail" approach isn't the best. Others drill with long auger bits but that can also damage the plunger tube marring it.

We like to actually use a pipe cutter to separate the entire assembly allow us to remove the AR and spring intact while leaving the guide pin in place.

Reassembly of the barrel takes patience and proper adhesives so don't rush this or any modification and you'll be fine.
