I always liked this version tmore han Brendel's own personal favorite, the second recording on Philips in the 90's ..... the performance is more unleashed , mysterious and demonic and the sound richer

to be kind to Brendel I must say that I converted from stereo to mono this recording.

really? why do you say that , to be kind to Brendel? I take into account the playback mode, this was Brendels first digital recording I believe , at the time , sounds great the opening I"m listening to now....gorgeous in every way ....beautiful, brings back fond recollections of orginal ,,, one day I nope to get my hands on a copy of original CD and put it on on a decent stereo playback system, and take in the power and beauty of this performance (alsoLiszt Conc lp Haitink!)
