  • luv it i checked out a few of your other tracks too keep up the good work bro god is in the music.

  • THIS IS HOT BRO!! I LIKE IT.. IT GOES HARD TOO!!

  • Like how you got the bible open right by the keyboard. Eat while you work. I keep the word in the lab with me too bro!

  • uhh i geuss its ok but this is just not my style hear but keep it up you make somthing out of your self

  • nice work...

  • That was crazy. Truly inspiring.

Back in the day I had a mpc3000 but did most of my music production on my various keys because the keys are what i do. After watching your video, I can only say that AKAI should be paying you money because I WAS on the fence about springing for that mpd32. Now its late at night and I am fighting the urge to drive by the local music chain way too slow for my own good... Seriously can't wait til the store opens...

    Keep making fire!

  • @AirForceJuan2 - Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video. The MPD32 changed the way I make music and inspired a different sound/style. It's one of my best purchases.

  • @TaurusBeats hi! is there any "core" musical functions you would miss in the mpd18 compared to the mpd32?

  • @MyRitmo - No, there are no core musical functions that I would miss with the MPD18 compared to the MPD32. I might miss the transport controls though.

  • @TaurusBeats ok, thanks!

  • thats beat making :)

  • Throwed ass shit mayne real talk

  • dope beat taurus . send it to me so i could rip it up with a tight flow LOL..".....

  • @albertoivanortizz - Glad you like the track. Download it FREE. The link is in the description. Let's hear what you got.

  • Nice beat but i wouldn't have used that snare/clap

  • Taurus I left a comment on the other page. I like what you did with the strings it offers more contrast over the top of the bass drum. I think you know what Im talking about when I say it helps to smooth the choppy feel that u hear often from Primo, RZA & Pete Rock.U hear it so much becoz so many beats are made on the pad. It helps to add a little more flow.I like the choppy type beats but its nice to hear somthin a little diff. in hip hop. The modulation and chord change was nice in the middle.

  • simply put, impressive man... keep doin' it.... peace

  • He killed this sample. Shout to Taurus Beats!

  • me gusta como disfruta lo que hace muy buenos beats saludos desde venezuela !!

  • hip hop producers have gotta stop soul and funk samples even though producers can make them sound uniquely theirs its all strting to sound the same especially when this style has been perfected already. for up and comming artists you guys need to create a new style to stand out any one with music ability can do this

  • @fdr100100 idk dude, i say creativity goes in to effect if someone's really (i mean really) trying to make it as a producer.

plus there still are a load of other producers out there that just sample for the love of the music. just sayin'.

  • another hot work of art again and great display of passion.. my names jazz once again.. hit me up and send me somethin if you have something you want me to work on for you or do as a project... iight peace

  • crazy beat man... i can hear j.johnson spittin on this

  • sounds like dr dre, game, and tupac...very very inspirational

  • Dope stuff man! Christ forever!

  • Fam! That's what I'm talkin' bout. Keep your focus man.

  • HOT TRACKS ......STAY ON YOUR GRIND

  • I love what you are doing Taurus. Thank you for taking us through the process. I will definitely stay abreast of your beats!

  • Nice job again!!! Where could you get a stand for md's and mpc's?

  • @ShortBrownMC I'm using snare drum stands for my Akai MPD32 and M-Audio Oxygen8 v2. Go to Guitar Center or a music store that sells drums. Grace and Peace!

  • @TaurusBeats sik idea! haha why didn't i think of that lol nice one!

  • And thats how the magic is made! good job

  • One Word: Good

Nice beat, I love the exploration you show with the sample.

I am still trying to learn how to sample in Reason. got an MAudio but haven't tried much at all. Again, good beat. -Elek

  • I gotta akai mpc 1000 and AFTER I RECORD AND GO BACK TO THE MAIN SCREEN, I HIT MODE AND PAd6/Trim, but all I see is trim on F1, loop on F2 and edit on F6. WHY IZ THAT?

  • is it me or are you POUNDING that mpd... it true the velocity sens is terrible?

    Nice beat... BTW :)

  • @DrezotheDog - Actually, I'm not striking the pads hard at all. The mic on the camera makes it sound worse than it really is. But then again, it's all relative. So, the next person can say that I'm "pounding" the pads. The velocity sensitivity on the MPD32 is programmable. I just haven't changed mine.

  • @DrezotheDog Speaking from experience with the MPD32, after a while, yes, the pads wear down, and they are not as responsive. There have been issues with pad sensitivity with the unit. If you look at my vids of the machine, i totally revamped mine, I have new pads with the sensitivity kit installed under them. I hardly touch mine. Check it out...

  • Sick Beat man!

  • if he keep on hit the pads like this the mpd gone talk to him

  • HEllo man!.

Is very difficult to work in Reason 4 with 2 midi controllers?

    Soon I will buy a mpd 18, and I have a EMU xboard49.

I would like to run dr rex and redrum with mpd 18, and the others with tha Xboard49.

  • @deejaykharma - No, it's not difficult at all to work in Reason with 2 midi controllers. I run my setup like you mentioned. I control all percussion elements with the MPD32 and control all other instruments with the M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2.

  • name samples???

  • good sir, how much does the mpd go for? i been making beats for a year. but i really want the freedom of drums and sampling breakbeats gets old after awhile.

  • @babyoil1 - I think they still retail at about $300 (US), but you can probably find one on ebay for half that.

  • @TaurusBeats good looking out

  • Really nice man. God bless you.

  • Good solid workflow. Beat shows you taking your time.

  • GOOD SHIT! ;D

  • its dope...can you give me the sample?

    god blessya

  • dope as fuck man!! Q: how did jesus die the second time?

    P`z

  • Damn thats good!!!

What is the name of the book on the desk?

    Peace

  • jordayzzz: Thanks for the comment. That's the Holy Bible on my desk. I was reading about why Christ died for us. That's what inspired me to create the track. Hence, the title - "Rep The King." Thanks for asking. Grace and Peace!

  • All things are your's through him.

  • tight work fam i like the beat very soul ful sound like something that should have been on blueprint 1

  • do u need reason 4 to make a beat with mpd?

  • samir1992: No, you don't need Reason 4 to make a beats with the Akai MPD. You can use other software like Ableton or FL Studio.

  • hey man can you help me out i use reason 4 and i use mpd 24 i sample alot but how do i lay bass on a sample what should i use in reason4? keep up the good work real hip hop

  • QUQO12: For bass lines, I use the NN-XT device in Reason 4 with the Upright Bass sounds. I also use the Hyperbottom bass sound from time to time.

  • you do alot of side chain compression dont you? it kinda sounds dat way forgive me if i'm wrong I'm just getting into dis reason thing

  • bobbylosh: I do use a lot of compression and other effects on my tracks. Good ear, considering the fact that Youtube compresses my tracks so much that it's almost like listening to AM radio.

  • or does anyone know what kinda stands his keyboard and mpc are on

  • slliks67: They are snare drum stands from my drum kit. You can find them at stores that sell drums or on ebay.

  • what is the name of the stands you have your keyboard on and Ya mpd 32

  • hell yeah fam, always makin fire, i got a new video up, much erps to check it out! thanks!

  • go to araab beats he make beats for dip set, hes a fuckn monster on da mpc

  • Not bad but fam, i think you're way too busy with the pads. I agree with Tuppington...let the samples breathe. I mean how many different chops did you use in one 8 bar loop?

  • CogicKeys23: Point taken, fam. However, the point of this track was just what you asked about - to use many different chops within an 8 bar loop. You can see from the other vids I made, I don't always do this. To answer your question more specifically, I increase the number of chops used within an 8 bar loop as the song progresses - 9, 12, 16, 19, 30 (max). I understand what you're saying, fam, but I don't always follow convention. A major part of what I do is experimentation.

  • this beat has no love... or maybe only self-love which i should have expected from someone who calls himself "the King" and spends the first 6 or so minutes jacking off

  • @Tuppington where is the love man

  • im just telling it like it is. "real talk" as they say these days.

this dude doesnt let the samples breathe at all. maybe i got the "king" part wrong but still... if his name is only "taurus" its fitting... just a guy who pounds on the MPC.. u wanna see love? look up a video called "jazz hands"

  • lol I would venture to say the King in this context is Jesus

  • always a hater on youtube

  • u next dj primer Epic Bit

  • ive been lookin for the perfect instrumental since ive started in the hip hop and i found it man, i have the lyrics you want and need trust on that man let me know if u want to hear it...

  • bad audio : /

  • quality

  • watched your vid. looks like making music takes you places no one else can visit. i go there sometimes too.

  • PoeticallyIlliterate: You're right, fam. making music does take me to that place where no on else can visit. Sometimes I wish people could go there with me, though, just so they could experience the pure beauty of it all.

  • @TaurusBeats ah the zone, ive felt it myself countless times. its amazing

  • The Next Timbaland!!

  • so muss das sein!! Fett!!

  • dope

  • cassius clay on these beats man.

your tracks have a beautiful way of exploding when the beat drops. you snare kills it and your kicks always juke me.

  • Awesome beat! Your electric piano beat at 3:35 is so beautiful! What software or sample are you using to make it? Is it a reason refill? Thanks a lot!

And thanks for the cool vids!

  • macdaddylorenzo: yes it is one of the default Reason Refills. Reason Factory Soundbank>NN-XT Sampler Patches>Piano>RhodesMK1
