@MrCarlonso24 This is NOT my video, but I'll respond to your question. I bought my first Subaru (Impreza Outback) with 153K miles on it. I took it up to 168K, and it ran beautifully. No problems, and looked great. I traded it in for an '06 Outback with 20K on it. I now have 98K on it, and it runs like new. Amazing build quality. I have had one engine repair on it so far - new wires and coil pack. My plan right now is to take it to 300K. My next car will be the BRZ, or Forester.
Hi, I'm working on a project for a Subaru brochure and we would like to use your video. Can you please respond back to me and I will give you more details?
@iloveweedsomuchable my check engine light has been on for about 150,000 miles, mostly to do with the evap system - luckily NY has loads of folks willing to pass you inspection for an extra 50 bucks - my move to California has forced me to keep my NY plates for this reason
that is awesome, take care. I first spotted a high mile scoob in the early 90s, it was a 1987... getting resold with fresh inspection from a dealer, with 365k miles. Complete with the little tiny 13 inch wheels! I never expected it from the expendible EJ series.
I guess I'm good to go then. I'm banking mine has had a new timing belt at least, poss. HG repairs. Who knows. I'm going to change all fluids & drive. (my chk. eng. lite is on. isn't everybodys ? My plan to put a piece of tape over it to make dissappear).
Mine was on for a year and a half before I got mine fixed. It was only because of an O2 sensor. I'm probably going to have to get the head gaskets replaced soon.. Ugh!
That's where you make the call of yes or no. If you wracked up those mi. on the orig. HG's, than that is a feat. Eng. owes you nothing at 350k+ mi. Mine has already done a temperture surge (gage at 3/4, once) at an intersection, but jumped right down once rolling, Could of been t-stat. Something I'll have to watch. I want to like Subaru, (agree w/car relationships). This is the highest mileage car I've owned to date.
how far towards 400000 miles are u. ive got a pug 405 glx 1.9 td 1994, 299989. please reply with the amount of miles u have on ur car and what car it is.
The engine was replaced at 150,000 miles just before I bought the car. I had to replace the clutch twice - but I have 325,000 miles and the thing runs great
Guess which part of the car does the most work. The bearings just turn, the body just, well, shines. And wiring just conducts electricity. The engine and transmission do the most work out of any part of the car.
@Soob4ME the engine was replaced at 163,000 just before I bought it. That engine had 80k on it and now the car has 351k which would that I have about 270k on the current engine
I bought my 2002 impreza wrx b/c when it was made GM owned 20% of Fuji heavy industries. Did you know that 99% of the machines in GM factories that actually make the cars are "Fuji heavy ind" ?? So in actuality, GM is more Subaru than anything. :) And likewise, subaru is more GM.
Hey man have u ever have a major problem with your outback im about to buy one with 144000 miles thanks its automatic

You should check your car because check engine light is on...
My check engine light came on at 98000 miles only..

I have less than 115K on my car. But is has a salvage title, so doing the head gaskets is about half of what my car is worth.

It doesn't even count if the engine was replaced. That's cheating.
Soob4ME 2 years ago
How is that cheating? The rest of the car has traveled 325k. It was probably for headgasket failure anyway.
