Impeachment is a tough one. Impeachment does not remove the President from power. Impeachment has to be passed by the House and the Senate. The result of a impeachment is a indictment, then you have to pursue a criminal trial. It is a long drawn out process and the Dems with their existing numbers couldn't do it alone, they would need some Republican help.

I say we just stone them, cheaper, faster, more fun, and you get some exercise too!

First Gonzo says he misspoke on his previous testimony and says HE corrected it with a journalist. He is again pressed on the same previous testimony and than claims he sent a SPOKESPERSON to correct what he had misspoken. Than he claims he doesn't recall what he told this SPOKESPERSON to say. He should have been making this correction with the committee of Senators not a journalist. His sleazy tactics and lies only make him look more GUILTY!!!

The Bush administration has already said it will prevent the DoJ from pursuing any contempt citations against its members, as a form of "executive privilege." When it goes to court, the stacked Supreme Court will rule in its favor. These people intend to wind down the clock until Jan. 2009, when Bush will pardon everyone for everything. I'll bet that's why none of them seems to have any fear of any legal consequences.

I think that is a really wonderful idea, and one that would strengthen democracy and dramatically limit abuse. Does anyone here know the process and requirements. Is it 2/3 of House and 2/3 of Senate, or what?

It's 2/3 of the House and Senate, and then 3/4 of all the state legislatures have to vote to ratify. The process generally takes years, so probably, unfortunately, this current sad crop is home safe. That's why they're all so smug.
