I think alot of cats are big into the software cuz anyone can be a producer now, but I say, the true producers use the hardware and I respect them producers alot more. @Malthus, yeah for it on craigslist...the screen was bad but it had 8 outs, a 250 value alone...I have since sold it since I only needed te 8 outs. I put it in my 2000xl

Ive had a 2500, 1000, 2000xl and 500. I now use an mpd, mpk and an apc with ableton and love it. I don't think folks should disrespect the particular tool a producer uses to make beats. If a cat has an mpc 3000 and is wack we not gonna say that 3000 is bullshit. And similarly if a cats on fruity loops and blazing that shit we shouldn't be like that dude is untalented for using software. We can all get some bricks, not everyone can make a house.

Actually Akai got bought out by Numark the new MPC's 2500 & the 1000 were made by Numark. I have a 2000xl it has that classic sound and feel to it.

i think y people have gone all to software is because the older generation never spread all the tricks they do with hardware to the younger generation of producers...software is straight forward and easy to use, especially when you dont have a dj toomp you can just ask questions tothats why the producers now just mainly use use softwareno one taught us how to properly eq a drum so it hits rightjust send it to a mixing mastering engineer i use the motif es and fl studio and reason 4 all together
