Just found out the title of this song. My Granddad always used to sing it to me when I was a child. But unfortunately he passed away last weekend, so I'm thinking of suggesting it for the funeral.
"....I love you because you understand dear every single thing I've tried to do....you're always there....I love you most of all because you're you..." Beautiful words.
WOW Such a wonderful song sung by such a wonderful man. My favorite song sung by my favorite singer of all time. Now what could be better than that? Having your favorite song sung to you by your favorite man of course!!! Having the love of my life sing that song & Young And Beautiful to me along with 'Our Song'
to my wife teresa, you wil always be mine, no matter what you do or marry your mine because we are still as one please understand that i cioild never have made iot this far without you
i ask myself what the hell hapened where did it all turn to crap. elvis had so much going for him surley he had those thought too. i just know how much we lost. ty for posting this beautiful song.
I had this on a single when i was a kid. Wish I had it now. Notice Scotty Moore noodling rather aimlessly behind Elvis' voice. He quickly learned discipline and shape and would soon record the lead to Hound Dog, one of the all time great leads (two no less).
Written by Leon Payne. Elvis recorded it during his first commercial recording session at Sun Records on July 5, 1954, along with Scotty Moore and Bill Black, and his own guitar. Apparently five takes were taped by Sam Phillips, but none were released commercially. RCA released a single of the song in September 1956 using a splice of takes #3 and #5; that master was released on the Elvis Presley LP.
Absolutely perfect as always Jackie, 10 Stars. I love all of Elvis' music and recordings from the SUN Era a whole lot. Elvis had the greatest start to a singing career than anyone ever will. There'll never be another Elvis. John Lennon was absolutely correct when he infamously said "Before Elvis, There Was Nothing", which meant that the music industry was really nothing before Elvis came along.
My mum loved this... and also Wear My Ring Around Your Neck... she would be 100 now. Not all Elvis fans in the 50's were teenagers....

I love this song, which Elvis recorded on his first album called Elvis in 1956. Very nice video presentation to go with the song.
