  • You wouldn't happen to know if these are California legal would you? I can't find much info to whether they are or not.

  • Garbage

  • Love this rifle. Just wish it had a heavier barrel on it. The one I shot the groups would open up to 5 moa when I shot a full magazine through it in less than 30 seconds from a vise lmao

  • lol "russian like" xD

  • i am not sure which rifle i want to get, The PSL or the M76, which one do you think i should get

  • no feeding probs in mine, other than the bolt hold open doesnt work :(, my rifle also has a nylon buffer attached to recoil spring, and a gloss black finish (was barely able to read serial number). im still figureing out the scope, kinda tricky. thanks for responding.

  • please email me a description of why the guns built in tennesee were/are bad, please.

    thank you

    or just respnde here

  • @blackbilly1965 some batches of their receivers that are US made were cracking along feeding problems too. not heat treated right or something like that

  • I know this rifle. I am a Romanian officer. You don't want to mess with this one. This is for those who know not for novice.

  • Cugir Romania factory , U read CUGIR in english ( koogeer ) not cougar like ur milfs lmao:)))

  • Would you trust the kits from centerfiresystems? I'm thinking about getting a PSL kit from there and then going to a gun shop in town to buy the receiver.

  • @Ratkill9000 i thought they just sold the complete built rifle. wouldnt be worth building and then putting it on a out of spec US receiver IMO. go for the original Cugir romanian build with original receiver

  • CUGIR. instead of pronouncing "cougar" you should pronounce it like KOOGEER.

  • @Lightspit it's a city in Romania :) also an arms manufacturer

  • @TheHotelMoxa Cugir is the city where the „Rom arm”(romanian armament) has its factory. im from romania and never heard about the PSL...

  • @cioariccata PSL is made in romania. PSL stands for "pusca semiautomata cu luneta" wich means semi-automatic scope rifle

  • It's pronounced "bella roos" btw... :-) sweet rig though

  • is it possible to remove the existing stock and replace it with standard ak furniture? or possibly intrafuse stocks?

  • @Dmajorproductions you would have to modify it to fit i believe. there are aftermarket stocks already fitted for this rifle available online. ak style and black polymer

  • does yours have the bayo lug?

  • The Dragunov start at about $3,000

  • I was thinking of buying one, but i heard they jam alot

  • @TheGrizzlyFactory you heard wrong i believe . ive owned 2 that have run flawless. sometimes the surplus mags can be bent and aid in feeding problems. thats what the majority of issues are from

  • @zboyco what did they do or you to make this 922r

  • @csxconductor100 its not subject to 922r

  • @zboyco whats the deal with 922r whos going to check your rifle and look if theres enough usa parts?

  • @rollthelosingdice That was only for the "assault weapons ban from 1994-2004 and is no longer in affect. I've asked and its no longer relevant to now.

  • this is copz of russian draguanov, svd .. just fucking copy

  • @SptRussia is not a copy , it is a different sniper rifle , and i tell you is a good one

  • @SptRussia no it's not intended to be a copy, just the same role, the PSL was suspost to be a sniper version of the soviet made RPK

  • Cool Rifle you got there, I saw one of these for about $700 at a gun show back in June, kind of wish I bought it, but no use crying over it now. One question are there any higher capacity magazines for it (you know, in case of zombies)

  • @Rektek23 not that i know of

  • @Rektek23 No. However I have seen 5 round versions of these magazines. Hope that helps.

  • i see, compared to the dragunov svd's i have seen, this one has a rail

is there anny way to put a rail on an dragunov svd ?

  • What i think is funny is when people are careful not to point guns at the camera and when they do they say sorry.lol Like they might shoot us.

  • when will these guns become more avalible. 9/10 websites nolonger have these in stock

  • im somewhat surprised there not more of these available

  • would russian surplus ammo be good for this rifle?

  • @godzilla1463 yes

  • great video. i love that rifle. I put a bipod on mine. I had a quick question. How come, at the end of your vid you HAD to say it was empty? i have heard others say the samething and even show the firearm is empty. Do people really need to be told that? Once again great video sir.

  • @caelverchiel i didnt have to but i like to humor the safety sallys on utube

  • Is this import legal? I'm just wondering so I could maybe import tis. Please get back t me ASAP.

  • how much did you get the psl for???

  • Looks like Dragunov .... or is Dragunov ?

  • @Shackyable Our PSL is modeled after the Dragunov.

  • Where did you buy the scope?

  • @FredFlintStoneRox kalinka optics site

  • fck yeah for romania! :D

  • thanks for explaining the difference between a PSL and SVD. I've been wondering about that.

Is there a lot of difference in performance? (But I suppose that's not a fair question if you've never shot both of them for comparison)

  • sweet!!! :D

  • Where did you buy yours?

  • it looks like a dragonave

  • @emokiddXhotemorage => indeed this is a version SVD DRAGUNOV

  • @SmyQ400 ohhh ok :)

  • @SmyQ400

No, it's not. The SVD is a COMPLETELY different rifle. They only look similar, fire the same round, and fill the same role. It's kind of like the difference between an AK and a VZ 58. Similar looks, same ammo/role. But this is by no means an SVD. Not a single part is interchangeable between this and the Dragunov.

  • @cauberallies but they both shoot the 7.62 54r right? and they are both sniper rifles right? so they do share some close similarities.

  • @maciverandy

This is true. The PSL is supposed to resemble the SVD, it does the same thing, fires the same round, and is used in the same way, so yes, there are some close similarities. But it isn't a SVD. The SVD uses a short stroke gas piston that's not connected to the bolt carrier, much like the SKS. The receiver is totally different, the mags aren't interchangeable, it uses a different trigger group, and the barrel is rifled differently, among other things.

  • @cauberallies so which do you prefer?

  • @cauberallies The scopes aren't interchangeable?

  • Nice info :-)

I'm looking in getting the same ...just need to find a good scope...

which do U like best ...& how much do they run ?

    DirK

  • Not sure yet but you may have just sold me on this gun. I already have a Mosin and a AK(Romanian) so this would fit nicely with my collection.

  • It's still considered a dragunov. Just a PSL.

  • where did you get the 8x scope?

  • @221smay kalinkaoptics dot kom

  • thanks for quick reply. will not be touching a romak anytime soon now. im just gonna do a budget buy of a mosin nagant high quality from j&g. for 120 with the pu scope. aye if its in excellent condition it must be very very good. plus i have a couple places i can find said ammo.uncle has 30k rounds of s&b so ill be damn good XD

  • @coozy100 yea if it aint the real romanian RPK reciever ,i dont touch them, cant beat the price of a Mosin

  • jg sells a romak 3 now for 300. jw how was your expierence at j&g?

  • @coozy100 romak3 is garbage out of spec. id get the 54-C real romanian version and spend a little more and get the non US made reciever. experience was fine

  • @zboyco Correct! This is standard in our army. Its not a real Sniper rifle like the ones you use in the west, especially .50 cal but its good for 2 reasons. 1.reliability just as good as an AK 47 (or AKM romanian version) 2.This is romanian version of russian SVD but with better accuracy. Get the romanian scope for the cool easter markings and better AMMO u will be surprised. Unfortunately is cheap and available to everyone. Talibans and insurgents kill our troops in iraq and afganistan!

  • Mr Zboyco, I just got the exact same scope and the center-weaver mount for my psl, any tips on how to zero it???? I noticed this one has 20 clicks for elevation and 5 chevrons. what all could you tell me about how to get the best out of this scope. I would appreciate all the help you can give me!!

  • just wondering how do the soldiers who are issued these rifles, able to take care of it like every other day in the battle field . after all the corrosive ammo they must be putting through these

  • @waseem1173 they pour water down the barrel and over the bolt, bolt carrier and dry off

  • @zboyco what if they under fire for days and weeks at time and i can imagine the bad guys only having a few number of these expensive rifles. so a gun might go thro a lot of non stop abuse. so all in all how long can the gun function properly with corrosive ammo without the cleaning.

  • @waseem1173 the gun can take a lot of abuse. helps having a chrome lined barrel also

  • @waseem1173 yep heard some good stuff about chrome

  • @waseem1173 "corrosive" doesnt mean "Highly acidic"..the corrosive compound is the residue of the priming agents in the Berdan Primer. It doesnt cause much damage unless you store it dirty, and as you fire it tends to blow the residue out so It kinda cleans itself. We invented Berdan primers in the late 1800s and its one of the best systems out there..thats why the Soviets still use it. It keeps in storage almost forever and its cheap to make.

  • @Gloomshadow1 thanks for the info man much appreciated . so its just the primer , i always thought it was the powder that had corrosive effects

  • @waseem1173

Keep in mind that not all 7.62x54R rounds are bad in fact most military issue rounds in the countries who use them are modernized rounds that are non corrosive. The only problem is that most civilian available rounds are corrosive. So if you despise having to water clean your gun I would definitely suggest getting the top of the line stuff.

  • @random12986 i only have two mosin nagants . were fairly cheap. and i only buy silver bear ammo for them.

  • Romania FTW XD

  • looks so much like Dragunov

  • When you put that old scope on your regular AK did you have any issues with it not being cammed for the shorter round?

  • @walterbeech well i ended up taking it off because i didnt think it looked right on a regular x39mm AK. took at least 100 rounds though when i did have it on to zero at 100 yards

  • DAMN THATS A DEAL ON DA PRICE< GOOD CALL

  • U-Tube gun Police. funny.

  • Shouldn't this have a Bayonet on it to make it more harmonic? I mean it is a THIN barrel........it needs a harmonic balancer ?ha ahahaahha

  • @rheinmetall30mm how bout a harmonica on the end?

  • Telescope in the clip is PSO-1 type. (Soviet production), and PSL-54C version using LPS 4x6 ° type 2 and modified version

  • so will this gun take a persons jaw off from a mile away?

  • is this an ak convereted to a sniper gun?

  • Best review for this gun by far.

Why are so many ppl calling their weapon by the wrong names?

This is NOT a Russian SVD... thanx for showing/explaining down to the inscription...very thorough

  • rome copy off so many ak guns

  • How did you put a scope rail on your PSL? Thanks.

  • @AztecWarrior777 it comes with a side rail ready for a mount

  • 7 different fuckin walmarts

  • I'm little bit tired of this really short stock. I'm 6.2, lefty and it's not constable. I was thinking to built one or adapt a foldable stock that fit the length of my arms and fits my hand. The questions is: Do you know if it's legal in FL a foldable stock (weird to ask what to do with your property but that's how the things go) for the PSL-54c?. Thanks.

  • @lorddinaire yes it is legal. you know what i used to get an extra 2 inches in length of pull was a butt pad extender/recoil pad that slips right over from kalinka optics dot kom

  • @zboyco thanks

  • not a sniper rifle it was for moderate trainned marksmen

  • thats a real dragunov too not a copy!!

  • Centerfire has em for $450 now. Time to sell my dpms m4 and buy 2 of these and a case of ammo.

  • @frylock44 beware of the PSL from centerfire systems. they are not original recievers from the Cugir factory. they are out of spec US made and im not sure if the barrel is original also. thats why they are cheaper than the original romanian cugir builds

  • @frylock44 Mistaken A friend of mine recently purchased his Romanian PSL from J&G sales for about $630-650 with scope. HOWEVER, the next month I purchased the exact same gun from Centerfire for $450 shipped. From what I've heard everyone thinks for some reason that the receiver is different or the J&G PSLs were imported elsewhere. I took mine over to his place to compare there is absolutely no difference between the two rifles.. both marked the same with the same US receiver. Just no scope.

  • I had the chance to buy one of these the other week, I passed it up :(

  • call the things with there names !!!!!! this is SVD Dragunov

  • @Shishka22 There's a difference between an SVD and the PSL. SVD has a different firing mechanism and a true "sniping" rifle. This one is a longer ak in a bigger cartridge size. Still nice though.

  • so the difference from a dragunov tiger i have one of those and i was thinking is this better then my tiger

  • @Richenov ive read that the PSL is more reliable due to its long stroke gas piston to the Tigr short stroke, however ive read the Tigr is a bit more accurate. did you buy your Tigr in the USA??

  • @zboyco Russia no not in america

  • @zboyco Russia no not in america it was an Ishma gun with a folding stock

  • @zboyco i wait its called the Izhmash i spelled it incorrect sorry

  • Ive heard that the M14 style recoil springs fit into the bolt assembly, increasing the recoil absorbtion and allowing you to use heavy ball ammunitions. Is there any truth to that?

  • @AgeOfDarkness94 your the first ive heard that from. recoil seems pretty mild for me anyways

  • LOL .... base in russian gun (SVD)

  • i wish the SVD wasn't still as hard to find. guess it's still banned because it's "scary" look. i own a PSL and love the gun. if i could get a SVD, i most certainly would just to have them both.

  • the factorys name is Cugir...pronounced like "Kudjeer"

  • @kinghanuman also makes sewing machines in peacetime... if anyone's interested :D

  • you talk about some scratches on the stock but no rust; was it used??

  • @SymAmineC8H11N no rust. technically they are all used and none are really "new" as they are from Romanian Military Rifles

  • What grain ammo do you shoot in it, and have you shoot any of the heavy ball ammo.

  • @geraldlee33 its recommended to only fire light ball. i fire up to 150 grain

  • Usually you can find comparisons between AR15/M16 with AK-47, but seems to me

that those rifles has more things in common with the PSL or the Dragunov than the AK47.. Can you make/Show a comparison between PSL54 and M16/AR15?..Thanks..

  • the best thing sincer dracula....good thing u like them....have fun...our goverment doesen't allow recreational use...so enjoy them for both of us!!

  • can you give me the site where you got your scope. I just purchased a PSl the other day. Very fun to shoot. Good video.

  • can you give me the site where you got your scope. I just purchased a PSl the other day. Very fun to shoot. Good video.

  • @mikeymay00 kalinkaoptics

  • I still can't figure out what a 54 C is? Its just a PSL..

  • @jjw5150 the designation stamped on the reciever is 54-C. just a model number. but its just more known as a PSL

  • @jjw5150 the "54" identifies the rifle as a 7.62x54r, the "c" identifies it as a civilian model which is missing the hole for the auto-fire sear, and a pinned on muzzle device. Although some slipped through with both features, the rifles imported by CAI are now marked like this. There is also a model chambered in .308win produced by Cugir.

  • This is a great video Zboy. I have a psl as well but my scope is the russian scope with a battery operated luminated crosshairs....Can you give me any advice on how to zero this scope? I have tried at the range but I am way off on my adjustments...anything would be help..thanks bud

  • @The45Reason well its pretty much identical to mine then. mine has battery operated red reticle also made in belarus. its the same set-up as yours im sure. just might look a bit different. they are both designed for russian military rifles. The black wheel on top of the elevation and windage adjustment turrets should have 2 screws in each that need to be loosened before the calibrated (silver) turrets can be moved to set your zero at a certain mark

  • @The45Reason if your elevation turret is marked 0-10 then zero at 100m and set the turret to 0 , if it is marked 0-20 then set it at 1.5 for a 100m zero.

as you may know some scopes are calibrated for the 7.62x39mm round and these usually have the 400m rangefinder. if yours has the 1000m rangefinder then the scopes reticule is calibrated for 7.62x54r.

  • @The45Reason i would fire off a 5 round group at 50-100 yards. find the farthest hole in your grouping from the target and as you make your click adjustment, you can look through the scope at the reticle and see it move. move the reticle from the farthest hole in your grouping to the center of the target or where you point of aim was. make sure not to unloosen the set screws on the turrets all the way out. just enough so you can freely move the adjustment wheel.

  • @zboyco Thanks for the information I will use it when I take the psl to the range. I'll be sure to give you an update on how it all went. Thanks a lot for the help zboy

  • @zboyco I noticed today at a gun show that other psl's say 54C but mine just says "sporter"...and i can't find any info on that particular name. Im going to do a vid on and maybe you can help after seeing the markings on it. I think I have a good build considering the others i have looked at...

  • @The45Reason is yours a tennesee guns build? does it say FPK on reciever?

  • @The45Reason Sporter has a different muzzle break, U.S made receiver and chromed barrel..

  • @Wulfsige107

    just by a little

  • @Wulfsige107

    and a bigger round

  • Hi..I get mine few days ago but I'm a little bit confused about how safety operates.. The rifle is unloaded and I want to see the chamber pulling back the handle to the rear but I can't and when I try to move the safety in fire direction to pull back the handle , the safety lever doesn't move. It's lock in safety mode... This is a defect or I'm doing something wrong?..Thanks.

  • @lorddinaire the safety lever should slide up and down with ease. up for safe, down for fire. up will not let you fully retract the charging handle/bolt carrier. sometimes you have to pull outwards and move the safety lever. it can be tight sometimes

  • @zboyco thanks...

  • I wonder if you could contact Izmash and ask for a SVD...

But first to Roseta Stone ! Away!!! Gotaa lean that Russian. Mabye I can order a AK-74m and a Ak-104.

  • I recently bought ammo for my PSL but is 150 gr instead of 148gr..Do you think that makes a difference or 150gr can be bad for the gun?

  • @lorddinaire thats fine

  • @zboyco thanks..

  • google translate romanian o arma foarte buna, rezistenta si usor de intretinut. e o varianta a celebrei arme ak47 PSL inseamna Pusca Semiautomata cu Luneta

  • THAT IS A SNIPER AND YOUR GROUP ARE 5 INCHES????

I STAY AWAY FROM THAT KICK

    I USED MY AR-15 26 INCHES BARREL AND SHOOT ABOUT 2KM = 2,000 meter!

  • @CharlieDoan at 200 yards its around 4-5 inches. best your gonna do with this type system. its not a sniper rifle also

  • @CharlieDoan its not a sniper rifle, its a squad designated marksmen rifle, it was made for short to medium range engagement (100-300 or so yards) and the svd dragon was for around 300-600 yards. great guns both. ive never shot at long range but have at 100 yard range and they were both fun guns to shoot. dont quote me on the stats, i might be off on some. peace.

  • @CharlieDoan lol if you cant handle the kick of a gun with no recoil padding you shouldn't even shoot

  • The factory where its made isn't pronounced like the animal cougar, replace the i with an e and thats the correct way to say it

  • I need to buy the cleaning kit for my new Psl..Do you know where?..By the way, i noticed that the pin in the front sight is slightly moved to the right (from the back view)..Is that normal? And for the last: I have same as yours..Do you think that it's possible to add a bayonet?...Thanks.

  • @lorddinaire check jgsales for all of that. the sight pin is normal to look like that

  • pretty cool gun. Are you using a UTG scope mount >.< i would have gone with the scope and mount as one like the one that came with the psl. I lol'd at the youtube gun police

  • I just bought mine from J&G. I'm not sure which ammo I should get. 147 for sure but which one is better for you (less corrosive I guess).. Thanks..

  • @lorddinaire all surplus is corrosive. the new production will run you a half dollar a shot. the czech and russian have fired the best for me

  • @zboyco . Thanks. Do you think that I need to do something before shooting?, Any previous preparation, cleaning, etc?. By the way, after shooting do you need to clean the gas chamber, or just the barrel?

  • @lorddinaire no prep needed. just dont go more than 24 hours to clean it after shooting corrosive. you need to clean out every part of the gun. barrel, bolt carrier, bolt, gas piston, gas tube, gas chamber, muzzle brake, and reciever. soapy water or diluted windex over every part and down the barrel, dry well and apply thin coat of oil everywhere except, gas tube, gas chamber, and gas piston

  • good thing they still import these, thankfully most of the demand is on the M1A rifles, means a good price for us

  • that what happens when a dragunov and a ak-47 have a child =]

  • This rifle will accept a TAPCO G2 trigger. I would get a single hook. You can file down the hook for a VERY smooth short trigger pull. With almost no trigger creep.

  • So you dont like nutnfancy huh ? care to say why? All his info as far as Ive seen is all correct - and very informative

  • @24Rorschach when did i ever state I dont like him? i cant recall in any video that i did

  • @zboyco Sorry if I sound offending - one of your comments below "at home with his momma that subscribes to gay ass nutnfancy like you know?". Though I do definitely agree that that kid who dissed your gun was a punk.

  • @24Rorschach well he just isnt my cup of tea. i believe he has mostly monetary and ego boosting motives for his project. he also blocked me just because i have friends he doesnt like. i never said anything offending at all to him. nutnfancy is a fake in my book

  • Right, well personally owning a PSL that I got, it has the chromed barrel just like the one in the video and is as well an import. The rusting rate depends on the relative humidity of where you are at in the world. Being in Vegas, the average humidity is about 3%, so I can go 2 days without having to worry about the corrosive primer. And personally I wish the 12 year old kids who run around on video games would stay out of legitimate gun videos.

  • lol at 0:17 "made in Belarus" it's "Be-la-roos"

  • hello, it is possible to mount Leupold scope on this rifle?

  • @ww2footage long as you get a side rail with a picatinny mount
