  • who got world?

  • Very Nice horse!

  • **k, so, I'm 12, and I'm showing my bay at just local shows. I have a cherry colored show saddle, but I notice lots of people have tan colored. Is mine okay for local shows?**

  • @BootsChapsCowboyHats I believe that's perfectly fine. It doesn't really matter for local shows. I've been showing in my old beat up cutting saddle succesfully. It doesn't matter what your saddle is like if your horse doesn't work good. :) I believe you're fine.

  • yes deffintly but tan is mroe comon

  • Trudy= AMAZING :-D

  • I forgot to say earlier that you did a great job of showing her.

    Congrats on the Reserve Champion.

Looked like it was well earned.

  • The lady at 1:36 was really tailgating, and then she passed and it looked like she was going to cut you off when she got back onto the rail.

Why do some people have NO clue how to ride in a class and show no respect and courtesy for other riders and their ride.

It is costly to go to a world event like this, to have someone else potentially ruin a good ride at this level is unacceptable.

That rider should learn to ride like a national rider.

  • I totally agree, unfortunately it is chronic especially in the western pleasure classes. I was actually severly cut off in the finals by a really big name rider who has hundreds of points in horsemanship alone and very well knew she was cutting me off. Thank God my mare is so trusting of me that she just kept loping and let me steer her out of it. Sadly alot of the time it is not UNintentional.

  • for worlds thye cost is a little below a grand

  • beautiful horse(:

quick question, i am thinking about going to the world show next year with my new horse..i wanted to know around what price range it would be for me to show in 14-18 Western Pleasure and Showmanship..mayne HUS

  • That is way to much of a loaded question, there is the price of the actual class, the price of the stalls, the price of gas to get there, the price for hotel or rv hookup to stay at the show, price of food and gas while at the show, etc. The list is long and NOTHING about that show is cheap, cost can vary but I personally think you would be LUCKY to get there for less than $3000.

  • haha thank you.

  • Hello; i am a youth an we were looking at going to the world show next year, i am located in Australia but we worked out that minus the cost of the flights it was going to cost us about $5000 but we also wanted a bit more for spending money! so fairly costly.

  • lovely movement!

  • Comment removed

  • Its not even about speed. Its about the movement of the horse.

And if your horse is so good and "slow" then where is the video?

  • I agree, I think it's entertaining what she said. She just posted on a different girls video a few days ago saying her horse runs off with her in the classes and she wants suggestions on how to fix it. LOL! Ridiculous the nerve of some people.

  • Comment removed

  • Interesting that you felt the need to post this??

Not quite sure what the point was, but that's nice that your horse can go slow.

  • i also ride western pleasure. i think your horse is just beautiful and a great mover. her lope is incredible. im am interested in buying a fully trained mare... (my mare is still in training)... do you know about how much u are asking if selling? i dont mean for this to be a pointed question. thanks!! you look great!

  • Such a cute jogger. :) My sister just showed at the Congress last year and placed top ten. Her horse is hurt now. She is currently looking for a nice novice amature horse who can do good Showmanship and horsemanship. If you could, please refer me to any horses know of for sale that you think would be nice.

  • Hi, I am interested in your horse and would like to know how to contact you to gain more information. Thanks for your time. Amanda at Brummel Horse Farm

  • WOW !! double wow ! :-p

  • I own and paint and i love them! They are cut out for ANYTHING! He is currently doing eventing with me! When in the past he did english and western pleasure! It just shows how amazingly versatile this breed is.

I also LOVE how you dont have their heads curled under in this! That is how western was meant to be! Not this dumb stuff were the horse's nose is on his chest!

  • i usually dont like paints ( sorry ) but yours is really cute and a great mover good job!!!!

  • I absolutely love your horse! i have a two year old who lopes exactly like that!

  • That horse is amazing! I watched some of you videos of your other pleasure horses and they are all amazing. I am 14 years old (this is my mom's name) and I have been interested in pleasure my whole life. I recently bought a pleasure horse and he is a joy! He hasn't has that much training but his movements and head carriage are so natural. He's 4 years old. He's an own son of Surpassing Image who if I'm not mistaking is also a champion in pleasure. Do you have any advice for the amateur rider(me)

  • Ok I came back because I owe a huge aplogy to you. I just bought myself a paint stallion and he has the slowest trot I have ever ridden. He has never been trained its just natural. So yes I was wrong and for that Im very sorry. I guess we never stop learning. Oh and the farm was Gumz Farm, more of a breeding farm. So please feel free to say as you wish to me, I had it coming after all. Being in Aus doesnt help to much.

  • Congratulations and please enjoy the phenomenal breed that I am so in love with.

Do post videos of your new treasure also. Message me if/when you do.

  • What a beautiful ride! You should be very proud of yourself. I wish the video included you winning the reserve championship, what a great moment that must have been.

  • There is a professional video posted here on youtube by "improperusername" of the finals of the Am SR Western Pleasure 19-44 at the 2007 paint world that shows the awards and us loping out (with impromptu lead changes by Trudy) to receive our buckle from Mike Hachtel. Try doing a search for it, you will find it! Thank you for the kind words!

  • Dear JC Performance Horses...I have been DROOLING over this video for quite some time, in fact, I have made inquiry to it's purchase. I have been riding for quite some time, and I love what you have done to this horse! He's collected, tucked and well gaited. You have done a marvelous job! Keep up the good work and I really hope to meet you some time, and in fact, if I can sell my mare to purchase this horse, I will! Best Regards from Connecticut....Susan

  • Uh, these rude comments are really bugging me, and i just HAVE to say something. You're horse is BEAUTIFUL, keep doing what your doing. I ride western pleasure (Well try too, i have a hyper mare, so her head set is not consistant). I hate it when people make rude comments about it! Western pleasure IS NOT BAD FOR THE HORSE. And, horses do naturally carry there heads like that and lope slow. (s(S)he must have good breeding. Just keep doing what your doing, and if forsale, you will make some money

  • That blazehorse person is obviously a "hick" who criticizes a collected, beautiful mover because all they likely have ever done with a horse is jump on, gig the horse with a set of spurs and let it run amok. Clueless fool. This mare is fabulous and is obviously a natural.

  • Yep thats me a hick, no idea at all. You keep thinking that sweet heart!

  • I personally think this horse is very much a natural mover and is very happy and likes what she is doing. Look at her ears, they are up the whole time. I would like more information on her if she's double registered.

  • She is registered paint/pinto but not quarter.

Let me know if you are still interested.

  • And blazehorse, no the lope isn't natural to the horse, it is essentially a human made gait. But then again, horses aren't also designed to jump, barrel race or have people forcing them to lay down when they're struggling to get up like I've seen way too many Parelli people do.

  • I completely agree with JCPerformanceHorses. The mare looks really good. She has a wonderful disposition, and really seems to know her job. You can't fake a horse's good disposition. All of you who think this horse must be unhappy, obviously can't read horses' body signals.

  • Yes thank you, she has been a real treasure to ride. I love everything about her, she is my dream horse!

  • You just go ahead and continue to make yourself believe that what your horse is doing is natural.

  • Yes, thank you, I will. Do you know why I know it is? Because she does it by herself on the longeline and out in the pasture by herself. It's called good breeding, which you have obviously never heard of.

  • It again comes down to, why did you feel the need to post something rude and obnoxious? Do you see me insulting anyone elses horses?

No, and that is because I dont, I am a mature adult who keeps any rude opinions to myself.

Do you think making that comment would in some way, shape, or form, change mine or anyone elses opinion on pleasure? Because it definitely wasn't going to.

Dont criticize something you do not understand.

  • How can that be a pleasure? If the horse went any slower it would stop. Poor poor horse and her joints.

  • Has anyone ever told you if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all?

Your rudeness is ridiculous and uncalled for. My mare is ridiculously sound and happy doing what she does, I dont force her to do anything. Pleasure is by far easier on their joints than barrels or cutting events.

Please keep your ignorance to yourself.

  • Blazehorse-You've obviously never riden a pleasure horse (or a good one). If you ever get lucky enough to own or even ride such a talented animal, let us know how you feel. But until then, keep your ill-educated comments to yourself, mkay?

  • myxcure Im hardly ill-educated, worked for a top pleasure breeding farm in Indiana and still didnt like what I saw. You would have to be blind to look and think the movements of these horses is natural. If any of my horses moved like todays pleasure horses I would shot them as there is no pleasure in riding a horse that moves at sub speed.

  • Really? Care to name said ranch?

Again-if you've ever have the chance to ride a real pleasure horse..

  • The link to this page was posted on an International bulletin board. It was posted to in the debate section and most nay all who commented were much ruder than I have been. She is a stunning looking mare of that there is no question. I just dont like the flat knees and low head. I have clogged this womens section up enough now, so thats all I will say.

  • Which international bulletin board do you speak of? Facebook? Just because people were more rude than you doesn't make it right nor does it give you the right to be rude or to voice your ignorance.

  • Goodness, your maturity is immeasurable! And your "name-dropping" of the indiana barn, I'm glad that this high class facility that you refuse to name, let you muck out stall for them! It was very nice of them. The video was posted for people to enjoy not to criticize and belittle. Its called RESPECT.

  • So your pleasure horses have lots of knee and carry their heads up in the air??? The barn you are working at obviously doesn't raise top pleasure horses, because anyone who shows or breeds top pleasure horses on the paint or quarter circuit knows you want a nice, sweepy sride that has absolutely no knee, has a huge split in the hock, and lots of stay.

  • That was a post for blazehorse

  • This is truly a nice mare. I also ride pleasure horses. She is really cute legged and is a good hight for the western. Does she have a flaxen tail? I aboslutly LOVE horses with a flaxen mane/tail. she looks well behaved in the show pen. My first horse was a mare and I would never by one again. But she looks like a good mare though. Nice Video.

  • No she is not a moody mare at all. She has been nothing but a complete joy to ride and show. I love her to pieces!

  • Yeah, i ment she looks like a good mare. Sorry if you took it differnetly!

  • no not at all. I took it as a compliment, I was just confirming your observation that she is a sweet heart and loves her job

  • i truely think you have a fantastic horse. i dont do a lot of western. and i dont ride trotting horses. i've never truely been as impressed with a paint horse as much as i just was. i've ALWAYS been so turned off by them. and i ABSOLUTELY adore this little mare. i dont like that he tail swishes extensivly. but atleast it isnt injected. i think thats HORRIBLE!! she's amazing.

    :)

  • i love her she is got such good rhythm at the lope

  • Wow. Your horse is a real pleasure to watch (no pun intended). Congratulations on your accomplishments!

  • Wow it is more than possible to ruin a good western pleasure horse but this is NOT a ruined WP horse. This is one that has been trained correctly and humanely and you can tell from the look on the mare's face. Way to go Jessica!

  • Thanks! That is sooo true I never thought of that before, but you can totally tell my "trudy" as I call her is a happy pony... her ears are up pretty frequently and she does kind of have a "happy" expression on her face! :) It's kinda cute now that I look at it!

  • wow, whatever kind of person that wrote that this is a way to ruin a horse is so unbelievably rude. it takes so much skill from the horse AND rider to do this discipline. your horse is amazing, and gorgeous. she looks like a TRUE western pleasure horse.

    :)

  • Thanks :) I love her soooo much... she's my dream horse...

  • This is not what western pleasure is, the 1980's is what western pleasure is. These horses look lame. What a way to ruin a horse and a sport.

  • Really?? Do you REALLY feel the need to be so rude and insulting? Because... please.... tell me.... where did it get you? I put this video up here for others to enjoy and because I love my horse and I'm THRILLED at what we accomplished! (FYI: I do not use a trainer, I ride my own horse everyday myself. Therefore I earned my title because I worked my ASS OFF!) So next time you feel the need to belittle someone, please take it somewhere else to someone who cares!

  • She's so nice, I hate to have to see you sell her. My dream someday is to go to the world show, I just local paint shows right now. I think it's awesome you train at home. I do the same thing. Best of Luck.

  • I'm not sure if you'll receive this note or not. I studied YouTube a bit & at this time I determined this is how I should contact you. Anyway, you have a very, very, very nice horse. Congratulations on your accomplishments. I noted she was for sale. Have you sold her yet? We're looking for a solid WP horse for my wife. I look forward to your reply...

    Sincerely,

    Mark...

  • Has your horse (2 videos of a mare in heat with no brakes) been off the county fair farm? I seldom "engage" in bantering, but we have been to World, and this is huge, and I would buy her in a heartbeat for my youth or my Ammy, but to compare your horse and all your excuses with this horse isnt even in the same ballpark. Hey, the fuel to Texas from MN costs more than your horse is worth, so does the saddle on her. Apples to Carrots.

  • You have no business commenting on something you obviously know nothing about. This is a world-class mare and she is ANYTHING but lame. Horses in the 80s were not bred like the western pleasure horses of today who are bred to be naturally slow-legged. There is nothing RUINED about this mare. She is awesome - I was there and watched this class and she deserved to win. Jessica, you are definitely a class act. Congratulations.

  • Thank You... She is my dream horse... :)

  • Ive been watching numerous western pleasure videos of horses and seeing SO many comments of people saying "there going to slow...its so un-natural...there 4 beating...why is western pleasure like this now, ill never show it" Its stupid! Thats how western pleasure horses are supposed to look. Fluid, slow, head down. I mean im only 14 I dont know everything, but I know that much. And I can tell you this much, this horse is AMAZING! Shes the type of horse I'd love to own and show myself!

  • You have a GREAT Horse, she is amazing!!!! You two make a great team!!! You make it look SOOOO easy!! Happy Trails!!!

  • I'm not sure what will happen at this point. I have two mares right now and I'm in a really difficult financial siutation so I have to probably sell this one. It is going to COMPLETELY break my heart to sell her, I'm not sure what to do at this point :(

  • I was there that day, watching. :) You've got a beautiful pleasure mare there. I've got a QH gelding who I could only DREAM of having him move like that. Good luck. Are you returning to the World show next year?

  • Congratulations! Your mare is awesome!

  • Thank You!! :) :: Huge Grin::

  • WOW is really all the comes to mind....Your horse is amazing. Congrats on your win, You both totally deserved it. Man I hope my paint mare can get like that. Hopefully when my mare is finished, i will be showing APHA shows with her. Of course that will probably be later down the road, like after lessons with her...But yea again you did an amazing job and your horse is stunning. You can tell she loves what she is doing. Keep up the great work and good luck at future shows.

    Nicole

  • My horse Impression Of Elegance is on my page. She is so slow now and i don't think she would be happy if she didn't get to show or either! She loves performing.I just love paints! She too has very good breeding for a western pleasure Show horse! Her barn name is Ellie and I love her so much even more than my first horse.Shady Lady was my first horse she is also on my page.I just love Ellie because she is the most patient horse you will ever come across and has never bucked or reared.Write back!

  • There is absolutly NOTHING(Can't stress that enough!!) wrong with slow moving horses!I own a trained western pleasure horse and I love the way she canters and jogs.I also do english so don't be saying stuff you shouldent about these great horse.WESTERN PLEASURE ROCKS!!!GO SLOW HORSES!!!Am I right JCPerformanceHorses? Also you kicked some serious BUTT!I saw you at the show!I was there! And I was saying the whole time that "That girl is going to get Champions or Res."!Write Back!!

  • Thank You soooo much. I love my horse more than anything. She is my dream horse. She loves me and she absolutely LOVES her job. I don't think she would be happy if she couldn't show. I don't ever force my horses to do anything, everything is natural and purely great breeding and a great minded horse. That world show was the first time I ever even made the finals out of 5 tries and then we end up reserve world champions. You should check out my website... (see my youtube page for link)

  • Will the APHA ever start to penalize bobbing heads from too slow movement and jogs that aren't? Beautiful horse but.....

  • But what? This is gonna be good... Because if you think my horse isnt jogging or that she is bobbing her head too much you aren't even worth my breath. And I suppose you think the horse behind me when we are going to the left is super amazing? Did you miss the numerous parts in this video where I PASSED HORSES!?

  • 1st, the horse behind you certainly isn't the mover your horse is and you are obviously showing the judges what they want to see. It really is a statement about the judges and their failure to follow the rule book. Your horse has all of the ability to give them fluid motion-look at her during the extended trot-she is comfortable, happy, fluid. I would love to see her going straight down the rail at an extended lope-bet she is awesome. Passing others has nothing to do with the issue.

  • So tell me what exactly in the rule book does it say? Because my horse has a 2 beated jog, her diagonals hit at exactly the same time, her lope is a three beated gait and she doesn't have an excessive head bob...

You MUST do halter. Because only a halter person would feel the need to critize a performance horse like that....

  • ...continued... I'll tell you exactly what I tell every other person who feels the need to be rude and obnoxious on this website: Nowhere did I ask for your opinion nor do I care, and I will never understand why people feel the need to be insulting when they have no right and have probably no idea what they are even talking about. So next time you feel the need to make yourself feel important do it in person or on some forum where it is welcomed, because it is not here.
