I am actually interning for the company who makes Genibo for america. They are so cool!!! And they dance too. I got to play with these things for awhile. They have sensors all over their body and they have a camera on their nose and recognizes your face. as well as voice recon.
Unforunetly these things cost a fortune and its more than 500$ its cost 990$. :( but their worth it
This vid makes them look scary but their not their rly cute and fun
But being an Aibo owner... and having had Genibo demosnstrated at an Aibo meeting.. I can catagorically state they are more versatlie than Aibo, with stronger servos and definitly the way forward..!!!
Plenty of "Dances" on youtube if you care to search for them.....
it is really a simply fix on the movement. all you have to do is get gears with 58 teeth or like 32 instead of the bad ones that they have(15). it will make them ssssssssoooooooooo much smoother.
i just talked to them today and the company said in the exact words: "thankyou for your interest for genibo, we will try you can meet genibo in your market as soon as possible. we are planning for mass production to lower the price. best regards, james ju
i hope they are going to be in champaine color like the aibo 7 was.!!!!
wow :D nice ! I want a black one with brown or red but I guess I'll just settle for a white/black one... I hope the become a bit cheaper as I don't have money :( and I really want one :(
you can contact the aibo hospital and ask for professional painters to customize your genibo. my parents dont want me to spent 2 paychecks on robodogs but they obviously dont know that i like robotics :)
Prototypes that are under development usually do have cables for power at least, and sometimes even for reloading programming. I imagine the final product will be tether free.
creepy.

tell me is it better than aibo
nooloo3000 2 years ago
@vsusanmoon $1600 for it but still buying it. and theey are cheaper than what the price for aibo was before those ent out of production.
torresj 2 years ago
wow. these robots have developed so much since this was filmed.
They move so smoothly now, but they are just as costly as a Sony ERS-7 on Mind 3... Not cheap at all. I'd honestly stick with Aibo.

TOTAL AIBO COPYCATS. AIBOS ARE BETTER ANYWAY. I'D LIKE TO SEE THESE THINGS DANCE.
They seem a bit clumsy, too noisy, and they could definately make the movement smoother. But...I dunno. Maybe I'll buy one. ;)
