I saw stuff before this like Orndorff turning on Hogan, but this was the first angle I vividly remember seeing and rewatching over and over on tape. Also solidified Demolition as my favorite team ever. "The kissing cousins are eating canvas now" line will live forever.
Thanks for uploading this. I remember this like it was yesterday - this was the angle that solidified Demolition as my favorite team even as a little kid.
This match & its aftermath definitely had raised Demolition's profile as monster heels! If only today's so-called WWE Talent Development could take a page out of this book and realize that this serves as a benchmark on how to develop heels.
If you look closely they had the same body form but Billy was bigger.they had to be related some kind of way! Strange how Patera and Billy Jack were used as an enhancement for Demolition to be elevated as Monster Heels!!
Great example of a time when a good ass beating could get a couple of monster heels over.
Brady Boone was a great little competitor who unfortunately should have been destined to compete in another era. He was innovative as hell but his lack of size didn't fit into the WWF landscape in 1987, and thus, he faded from the Federation scene rather quickly. Sadly, Boone would pass suddenly while working as a referee for WCW in 1998 after an auto accident following a house show.
Indeed, this match and its aftermath made Demolition not only Monster Heels but also big fan favorites. Over the next year, the Demos would start getting loud cheers despite being rulebreakers; eventually becoming faces at Survivor Series '88. So kudos should be given to Brady Boone, Billy Jack Haynes and Ken Patera for being the men that helped Demolition finally get over.

This is the match that made Demolition into monster heels. Up until this, they were thought of as Hawk/Animal clones.
