It would take a pretty dumb kid (or adult) in this day and age to read the words crash test, see the specially built track spur and multiple camera angles, and still think there might be people inside the train! Crash testing of cars with dummy passengers is common fare on TV; why would anyone assume a test involving a train to be any different?

You can see the exhaust from the diesel engine astern of the generator.
