  • @Returnofthejedi1000 He's referring to the logos used during the marketing campaigns for Empire and Jedi and suggesting that I could have matched those. I considered it, but I wanted to keep some form of consistency going. Of course I've improved my crawl-making skills immensely since posting these videos 3 years ago so going back redoing them is something I might consider in the future.

  • what does EU mean

  • @TheMotionMan112 Expanded Universe. That basically covers all the story content from novels, comics games etc

  • Nice edit although I would change the Crawl color to Purple and JEDI to Red

  • @jediking12 If you look at the Empire trailer, then the text is blue

  • @MrDavidFILM I know I've uploaded the EMPIRE trailer

  • @jediking12 Really...I'm sorry if I made you upset, but in personal opinions I do think that it would be better if the opening crawl colours of Empire would be in blue...

  • @jediking12 Episode I Sand, Episode II Blue, Episode III Red, Episode IV Yellow, Episode V Gray and Episode VI Purple

  • let me jump in here....after the success of Star Wars A New Hope, Lucas got a bit carried away with himself declaring at one point there would be 12 movies, then 9. According to Gary Kurtz, the producer of the first 2 films, ROTJ took the story of 7,8 and 9, which revolved around Luke finding his sister and confronting the Emperor, and condensed it.

Personally i'd like to see a prequel about the Sith ruling the galaxy, the Jedi defeating them and forming the Republic, abandoning EU.

  • @jedsithor did you notice in 'Jedi' every character kept refering to their backstorys. Han: "Chewy and me got into alot of worse places than this." Lando and the Battle of Timnab (sp). Obi-Wan and the Empoeror talked Anakin Skywalker alot . Boba Fett's and Anakin's names were revealed.

  • @jedsithor Not true; Kurtz is confused, but the number of episodes DID change during the late '70s and early '80s...

  • @blofeld39 Lucas is quoted as saying 12 episodes at one point. Then it was 9. Lucas was definitely thinking about a lot of sequels before starting Jedi but there's no story left to tell after Jedi, (discounting the EU which prolonged the conflict well past it's sell by date). The Special Edition alone retcons the entire post-saga EU with it's galaxy-wide celebrations. I'd actually like to see a prequel about the old Jedi, Sith and formation of the Republic. Call it STAR WARS: Prologue!

  • I like this one better than the original opening

  • But even in 1980, it was Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. I think it would have worked better if you had left the Star Wars part in then just put The Empire Strikes Back at top of the crawl with no Episode V.

    Nevertheless, it still looks good!

  • @leandar Actually, it was on the top Episode V. beause back then Lucas did plan to do 9 Star Wars movies, maybe he will make a sequel trilogy in the future...who knows

  • @MrDavidFILM I seriously doubt it, because a) I don't think Lucas is interested in investing another decade of his life for it and b) he changed the story so much for ROTJ that what was apparently meant to be the sequel trilogy wouldn't fit consistently at all with the other films.

  • @leandar Oh, you doubt it...But I have proof that it said Episode V even on the oringinal film. 1:I have the original trilogy. 2: My dad saw the Star Wars old movies in cinemas when he was a kid. 3: On a TV show back on 1979, I think, a woman says that it is the 5th movie in George Luca's 9-Star Wars Saga. 9 movies...

  • @MrDavidFILM Oh no, that's not what I meant. I'm sorry, I should have been a bit more clear. What I meant was, I doubt it in as far as the sequel trilogy ever happening. I know Empire said Episode V at the beginning, I agree with you there. Sorry for not being more specific.

  • @leandar Oh...I'm sorry too...So we kinda missunderstood each other, right?

  • @MrDavidFILM Yeah, pretty much but that's ok. No probs here. :)

  • I've always thought it was odd that "Empire" and "Jedi" had titles designed for them, in exactly the style of the "Star Wars" title, but that were used everywhere EXCEPT in the actual films themselves.

I never even saw Empire or Jedi from start to finish until those Special Edition rereleases, so when Empire started and "Star Wars" flashed on the screen, for a second I thought the projectionist was playing the wrong movie. This video is something like what I THOUGHT I was going to see, LOL.

  • I've got a thought of my own. Use the Star Wars logo at the beginning, but just put the title The Empire Strikes Back on the crawl without the episode #. Same for Return of the Jedi. Now that would be interesting.

  • You know what? I've been thinking what if t did say that at the start of the video

  • Great job! Same with Jedi too! Maybe you can do this for the prequels too.
