  • omg, SIA dumped their A340-300s for the 777s years ago, now they only have 5 A345.. That's because this A345 can fly SIN-EWR/LAX non stop or else SIA would dump all,,

  • By far the best food Ive ever had on an airplane and really friendly staff.

  • "I saw a country reborn" enough said

  • A340 all day so much better than b747 it is much more efficient I love saa and there service

  • Wow! Look at the wing span on that Airbus. Beautiful piece of machinery.

  • Dumb uncomfortable aircraft. The gap between the window seats and the actual wall is 60cm--I checked. The touchscreen NEVER works and the seats are to small. I'm glad they brought back their 747's although only for flights to west Africa. At least someone will be comfortable. Thats why I have a Qantas frequent Flyer card not SAA I prefer the 747 over the A340 any-day.

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1

I've flown with it. Seats were great, nice IFE and good food. :)

  • @PhilipDK5800 I've flown it on many times. Did you have a window seat? Read my comment above and then you'll get why I said so.

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 I had a window seat onboard the 340-600

  • @PhilipDK5800 So did I-twice. Once for a 13 hour flight to Hong Kong and a 12 hour flight from Perth. I just think the seats are too small, (17"")

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1

You confuse the technology with comfort... The comfort is depends on the customer not a type of airplane. I saw a B747 which was less than the space on your feet...

And the technology... The Boeing fell asleep...

  • @Gabler21 Couldn't agree more, there are some ignorant people who don't have a clue about that aircraft and think the seat pitch is set or the IFE is chosen by the aircraft manufacturer. Technologicalwise the A340-600 is more advanced then the 777 even it has worse economics(other way round at high and hot enviroment) due to four engines and higher weight. Apart the 787 all Boeing Products are technologicaly inferior.

  • thats not a 747 its a a380

  • @mussicViDDeOOZzz It's a A340-600 actually.

  • ouh! baby!

  • 0:54 goose bumps

  • I am truly glad our SA friends have such a nice airways with so modern airplanes. The airbus is a hell of a machine.

  • nice Ad. the 340-200 are ex Lufthansa. i think they have 6 or so. not sure if they are leased or bought from Lufthansa. as far as i know SAA has one 744 leased out or available for leasing.

  • Their fleet consits of Airbus A340 -200, 300, and 600 they also have Airbus A319-100 and B737-800. They do not operate 747 anymore

  • But it says in October's "Airliner World" that they have four 747's I think they are in storage or something...

  • @binna000 They got back 4 747's for flights to west Africa

  • Comment removed

  • If airbus is their exclusive supplier then how does one explain their 737 and 747 fleet?

  • saa is an awesome group!

    frankfurt-johannesburg.....nice flight

  • have you tried the one from Paris to Johannesburg? is it about the same i mean what do you mean nice flight (friendly asking here, lol)

  • And now SAA is in a dispute with Airbus over A320's they don't want or can't afford. And they have a load of outdated A340's that nobody else wants because of the 4 engines. SAA's Airbus story is about as rosy as that French guys overly rosy characterization of the new South Africa.

  • Love SAA

  • Thanks SAA for coming back to Buenos Aires!! From April Johannesburg-Buenos Aires direct non stop gflogjht after 8 years of absence of direct flights!!

  • You know: South Africans like asado & tango! :-)

  • Like we the Argentinians like braai & biltong !

  • I absolutly love this airline! I hope it will be successful again in the near future!! And please, SAA, come back to Zurich

  • very good advert!

  • The best Airline Ad i've ever seen, terrific. Well done SAA. Hope they recover soon. Btw the A340-600 is no more the worlds most sophisticated and complex plane, now its the A380 and will remain for some decades.

  • I love it ....

Si many cliché of the French (the 2CV car ) then go to airport and see Concorde ..

Good choice SAA to fly Airbus ;)

  • South African Airways is awesome!!

  • Wow.

  • Dammat! thats good!

  • Quoting at 0:25 'south africa have chosen us for there entire fleet' so a boeing 737-800 is made by airbuw now. hmmmm interesting

  • they might have those on lease or are phasing them out. You can have a million Airbus planes on order, doesn't mean you are flying them.

  • This ad is quite old. SAA already had 20 brand spanking new b737-800s (738) when they decided to replace them. and as the new ceo came in he cancelled the orders for the A320 which SAA ordered to replace the 738. They still recieved all their other orders A319 A340-200/300/600's. And in the mid of last year they got rid of their 747-400's. Rumour has it, if they post good results in the 4th quater they may order somemore, or even A380's to replace 747-400

  • I flew from London-J'burg and J'burg-Lusaka return, and I found SAA was a fantastic airlein to travel with. The patterns of the plane wings and tail looks so good.

  • SAA is awesome, flew to Frankfurt from Johannesburg on one of their A340-600's,nice plane.

  • Very nice ad for a fine piece of machinery.

  • What a nice ad. I really like the colours on South African Airways planes-it's very modern.

  • I work for BA, but I'll admit, SAA is cool.

  • creepyyyyy Frenchhh man

  • I like their tail colours. So pretty.

  • same lol

  • Beautiful ad. I've flown South African Airways a number of times and it was an amazingly memorable experience.

I look forward to flying them again.

  • Airbus - shittiest aircraft by far... everything keeps breaking.... Bring on the bigger more beaulah BOEINGS! Love the 777!

  • ground handling staff is theif, they steal alot of baggages....but A340-600 is awesome

  • aggreed with both comments lol. Its very common to have your bags wrapped in this plastic warpping in SA. They only do it for a few Rand in Jo'burg airport

  • I flew on SAA once and I loved it. The paint job on their aircraft is awesome, hip and cool.

  • Pity the reborn country turned into a shitpit of murder and violence and opressing of white people

  • awesome commercial one of my fav aircraft

  • thats a damn nice aircraft

  • SAA is one cool airline. 'The world's newest fleet is coming.' Yeeeaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for posting!

  • God, I love this promo. And I love working for SAA, too! You're the ruler of Afrique du Sur!!!

  • This is an old commercial! But very nice alogether? But i still think we should hav estuck to the Boeing 747 Range (Good Old Faithfull!!)

  • ja man ekke sit nou hier in dubai ..dis donners warm so 49 buite....ek mis die land ek trek sommer nou terug =D

  • Yes, this is very good SAA commercial. It relays a modern fleet with an outsiders perspective. Wonderful.. how recent is this commercial?

  • Thank you its a wounderfull video!
