@trenquenights jajaj este pobre argentino se queja de los comentaristas diciendoles centroamericanos y uno de ellos resulta ser argentino jajajajajaja
I love NASCAR, Lemans, Rally Racing, All Types of Indy Car Racing, Monster Trucks, NHRA, hell, I even like Sprint Car Racing. Racing is awesome, pure and simple, no matter what kind of racing you're into:). By the way, Mr. Franchitti must be an expert at flipping his car by now. Glad he caught a good break and won the Indy 500 earlier this year.:)
Dario mentioned in an interview that he stopped recieving info from his team and spotter (perhaps a technical problem), and due to his focus on the track he wasn't aware that the race had ended so he kept on pushing.
Well it's not smart to just slam on your breaks RIGHT after the finish line...Franchitti is not at fault here. Traditionally you wait until about turn 1 until you start slowing, and even then you don't slam on the brakes like that....
No I literally mean he didn't know the race was over. He had his eyes on the cars ahead and his crew never radioed him telling him that it was the last lap.
He was still accelerating when the cars ahead were slowing down.
Or at least that's what he said as he stormed off after the race.
Why can't you be a fan of all racing. I for one, will be watching the F1 race, then the Indy 500, then the Coca Cola 600 on Sunday. I love it all. Every series is different and has its own appeal. I love NHRA, too. Dissing another series doesn't make the one you prefer any better. To criticize someone else for liking Indy Car vs. Nascar or vice versa is just ignorant.
Amen. I watch F1, GP2, ALMS, LMS, NASCAR, IRL (when I can) and formaerly Champ Car, Touring Cars, Junior Formulae (FBMW, FRenault, F3). Anything I can watch in other words.
@ttdrums - right on brother. I love it all too. It all has different things to offer. Indeed, watching more than one form of motorsport to watch enhances them all.
@DaiJonesful Nice comment and very true. I've tried watching Nascar but its failed miserably on me after seeing some idiot drivers running into each other (on purpose), putting driver, stewards and spectators in serious danger (Earnheart Jr early this season was one,) really put me off the sport. Another reason is in nascar drivers hardly get black flagged for reckless driving and ruining sombody's race,
@toreaxe I watch NASCAR. Don't tell anyone. I talk the Queen's English, and understand the fine nuances of F1 'bore talk". But NASCAR has oomph. It feels nothing for The Prima Donas of F1, with their sense of entitlement. It allows racers to fight it out, and not all fights are fair. It has rednecks behind the wheel, for sure, but if they were not there, it wouldn't mean anything. They fight like street fighters, it's crude, vulgar, and absolutely compelling. No less brave, or talented, either.
@DaiJonesful Haha Nice, i enjoyed your comment, it certainly true. I used to be a huge fan of F1 and have watched it since i was 3 years old, almost every race, exept for the last few years as my huge love for F1 has almost become hate. There used to be great fighting in the 80's and 90's (also the 00' schumy era i suppose) But the sport lacks racing personality, they are all kids now with none at all, Vettel and so on for ME are just Mr no way of going in history.
@ttdrums I here ya, I'm the same kind of guy. I'd be watching the F1 Grand Prix, then Indycar, then the American Le Mans Series, and maybe some NASCAR or some Australian V8 Supercars to top it off. I mean come on. So, u like one racing series more than another, SO WHAT!?!? you don't have to criticize someone for liking a league that u don't! It all depends on taste, people! come on! btw, Indycar is coolio. :)

NASCAR is for beer drinking morons, and Indy is for beer drinking morons that have a lot more money to burn. Its just class war here, tit for tat. I admire the general skill and knowledge of racing of F1 over NASCAR, but NASCAR has by far more people and more money. Combine the two, and it would be wreckage all the time... Now there is a thought, N1 :) Freaking Gordon and company would be losers all the time... that guy is oval bound for life.
NASCAR and Indy are for "beer drinking morons," huh? Mind telling that to the 5-year-old boy who races go-karts weekly and has big dreams of becoming the next great American racing superstar?
Your ignorance, SuperDaveOsbourne, is unfathomable (didn't think a NASCAR fan could use such big words, did you?). Franchitti is finding out the hard way that NASCAR is harder than it looks. Why don't you get behing the wheel and show the world how simple it is to race on an oval, let alone in NASCAR?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
franchitti is an idiot didnt he know the race was over at all? seriously. screw all u none racing fans and all that hate nascar, nascar is 500 times more popular then indy car racing i still like it but nascar is better and all u indy crap fans can have ur open wheel dumb asses back cause we dont want them in the way
Thank you. The sooner people realize that and end the arguments the better.
For the record, it looks like NASCAR is harder than IRL fans what to claim, with both Hornish and Franchitti struggling to run top 35. I think they'll both be fine, but I bet most open wheel fans think the top open wheel drivers can just dominate NASCAR.
That is a spankingly good video. The commentators are spot on with their comments and Dario is one hard fckr if he races next week. Come to home to Europe and the F1 Dario, see if you can manage more than four corners in a track.
