that's actually a pretty good size to start with, just don't do what I did when I first started stretching. I started at a 2mm and it went in perfectly fine with no problem or lubricant, so I thought, "OHEI, since this was an easy fit I might as well go to a 2.4mm" I did five hours later and omg that hurted like a bitch. Tbh, I don't know how anyone can stretch further than 2mm first time, I was given a 5mm to stretch mine from a 1.6mm and it wripped my ear. I could only go from 1.6mm to 3mm in the end aswell aha.

its not painless. when i went from normal piercing (18g) to 2mm (12g) it burned a lot at first. too wimpy to shove my pincher all the way through so i kept it half way in for a day and then i put neosporin on the pincher and on my ear, and it slid in kind of well for my right ear. left ear still hella hurt so i waited another day and did the same thing. didnt go in so i kept shoving harder and it went through.
