In counter strike, when you shoot a bolt action, your player zooms out, rechambers, then zooms back in. To eliminate the re-zoom, you can "Quickswitch" or switch to another weapon and back using the 'Q' key.

@hibobby57 For the AWP, it's to eliminate the re-zoom. It gets annoying when you re zoom so you just switch from the AWP to your pistol or knife and back again. Used a lot in other games on PC as far as Free online FPS's

@famguy80 lol that's not even true. I have a computer from 2007, prebuilt HP Pavilion a6242n, cost around $1200 (my dad bought it). It has integrated graphics, and on the LOWEST settings possible it runs the game at 50 frames maximum. There's plenty of Pc's that won't run it.

I asked the same question 7 years ago. for me its just habit now, but i think it helps keep your fingers warmed up, and its a good idea to check your quickswitch every once in a while to make sure you have your secondary selected (qs to flash in a close range shootout is very embarrassing)

@Xebanily Most people will tell you to get headphones + mic rather than a headset. I'm using a Sennheiser HD 555 that does good sound location in CS:S and a cheap clip-on mic. Hope this helps.
