I don't like a lot of your laws in America. I also hate the way lawyers can speak about a case once it has started in a court of law. our lawyers can't do that, i'm glad about that. Our system is not 100%, but it's still ours. Al Megrahi was freed to die, I agree with the decision although I'm against what he "might "have done in 1988. I am not sure whether he is guilty. Don't tell us about our laws, & we won't tell the Americans how to beat confessions out of people in Abu Ghraib.

Everyone has rights in the US. Our laws give power to the people, your laws opress the people and kill any hopes of real financial success. U dont have to worry about if he is guilty or not the court already decided that for u.

One thing is for sure I don't believe a paragraph of what they press tell me. I believe even less of what Fox news CNN or Sky news tell me. The BBC ITN and Al Jazeera are not much better if at all. Frankly, I don't care. The dead are dead and they aren't coming back even if we hang draw and quarter those accused of their killing. Who do we hang draw and quarter for the 3 Million Vietnamese killed? Or the Nicaraguans, Guatemalans, Chileans etc etc? America they hypocrite,.

Well said met3afleg, 270 people being blown up was horrific but Yanks don't seem to care about the innocent Iraqis and Afgans being killed! If its not their own mob, they don't give a monkeys. Having funded the IRA bombers and Bid Laden in the past, they are no better than those who blew up flight 103!

A nuclear bomb over North Africa would have killed countless civilians, but also destroyed a beautiful part of the Earth...oh and also, did I mention, killed many thousands of civilians. You want to "nuke" everyone or everything that you disagree with. My recommendation....slow down a little bit and then grow a pair. Well firstly anyone who wants to pick a fight with Scotland automatically picks a fight with another 55 million Brits. Secondly all bloggers and commentators need to realize that the Scottish public have absolutely nothing to do the decision to free a terrorist. If this was put to a public vote the Scottish people would of unanimously voted to throw away the key. The general public of the UK are not to blame for this.

If the captain of the American warship Vincennes had not shot down an Iran unarmed passenger jet killing all passengers and crew (mainly women and children) slightly earlier or alternatively the US allowed this captain to go on trial for his war crime then perhaps this incident would not have happened.
Many highly respected lawyers consider that Mr Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi is completely innocent of this crime. As far as I am aware only circumstantial evidence was presented in court.
