Hi! I did hard reset with my htc g1 android phone and it was completed. But the thing is, it asks me now to log in my gmail account so could use the phone but the problem is i don't internet connection. There is no wifi option in the wireless settings. @11995ricardo1 ... Well I'm not tech support so I can't really say what the problem is.

Try not saying to skip the demo, see if that works. Also, redo the hard reset. Sometimes it simply takes more than once for the OS to install correctly.

When going through the steps make sure the G1 is not connected to your computer, the battery is fully charged and try rebooting without the microSD card inserted (it could be goofing up the install procedure).

@LearnedDynamite ... You can simply skip that page and go to the home screen. At least that's how it works on most phones where you don't insert a SIM.

Of course without a SIM you can make calls or get on the Net. That pretty much makes the phone useless.

If you have a SIM and are getting that message, make sure the SIM is fully inserted and straight. Remove the SIM and replace it to make sure it is fully seated.

@odgoeswild .. That sounds like you have a rooted G1. That's called the "tri color screen." Bypass all the steps in the video and simply hit "alt W" and it should install the OS that's on the ROM.

Dude! I thought I had bricked my Hero, and I´ve searched for help. I found a way to get another menu I had no idea about through your guide, it´s a little bit different though (just a touchscreen and a few buttons, no keyboard on this one).This is what I did: Press [HOME]+[POWER] and wait for the animation with a phone and a red warning sign, then press [VOL UP]+[POWER], there you have another menu with more options.
