my daughter was walking home one day and a stranger stopped his car got out and started to talk to her, he then asked her to come back to his house, she said no and he drove off, as she turned the corner he was waiting for her, and asked her again to come back to his place.., she turned and ran home, we reported it to police and they said to me, SHE IS GROWING UP SO WE SHOULD EXPECT MEN TO TRY TO COME ON TO HER. she was 12 years old....

it's quite possible (because i've spoken to people about this) that the reason that steven brought timmy to the authorties was because he(steven) suffered from stockholm syndrome and that is a disorder that the abductee get's REALLY attached to abductor so when parnell brought timmy home, steven might of wanted timmy out of the picture and that's why he brought timmy to the police...because in the movie steven brings timmy to the police station but he (steven) tred to get away...

kids should also be aware of their family. you may think you know them, but sometimes...you dont. Spring Break of this year i was 'felt up' by my adult male cousin. he has 2 kids and a third is on the way. one is a girl. im scared to go to 4th of July because he will be there. I'm asking my 18 year-old cousin to come with me and my sister so that i can stay with him and not be at risk. Some people you think you know, you dont. I didnt.

Later after Steven's death his brother killed those two girls and a mother just outside Yosemite where I was working at the time he also killed well he beheaded a female ranger in her home. That was creepy to me because I was babysitting and the neighbors house was this ranger house and there was still crime scene tape up. Mr. Stainer says he wanted the fame his brother had. He's a sick man.

once a guy ask me where the hosptial was and I told him down that road. than he ask me if I could help him find his dog. that made no sense so I just walk off. but he wouldn't stop following me in his car. well when I finally got to my street I waited until he past me again that when I ran down my road so he wouldn't know whitch 1 I live on. that was scary I was14 at the time. I feel bad for steven's family. they lost 1 son than their other son is on death road for killing so many people.

Steven didn't die from child abuse. The important thing to remember is that his story was one of victory and survival. He married, had a family, and went on with his life.

R.I.P Steven. His story may have saved my life. Because before I saw his movie, when I was like six, I was really trusting of everyone, including strangers. When I was like 7 or 8, I got lost in the city while shopping with my mom and sister, before, I would've simply gone up to anyone to help me find my parents, but because I had heard about Steven, instead of searching out strangers, I sought out a police officer, I found my mom again after like 4 hours, maybe more

well my encounter was when i went for a night jog and a guy pulled up next to me and told me to get into his car. i said no a few times, but he followed me. i ran through a parking lot and jumped a wall which led to my backyard.

He got free and married and became a father. The real tragedy would have been if he hadn't had the courage to help little Timmy White, because he was able to save his own life as well.

This is one of the saddest stories ever. He lived a life of hell, did not deserve this. Maybe God took him home because his life had too much horror. At least now, he is at peace and nothing can ever hurt him again. My heart goes out to his family.

Yes very sad. I remember my sister and I got followed once. She hid in someone's yard and I hid underneath a car. Thank god we both found each other and the guy left.

well i'm quite happy to hear of your escape!!! i too was coaxed into a car. luckily i knew better and was much older than Steven, so i did not get into the car. i pray for the missing children everyday and the ones like Steven who have been found. thank you for posting!!!
