The difference between a breeder and puppy mill breeder is that GOOD breeders don't sell to pet stores. They do background checks on the new owner and have good living conditions for animals!

Gawd, I saw paris hilton on an episode of dr. Phil and she tells us to adopt when she buys 2000 dollar dogs from puppy mills (not to mention here in canada they usually cost a lot less than that)

People watch out for puppy mills there is a new type of puppy mills comming: the standard puppy mill puppy is sold to a broker then to a pet shop right?? the NEW one is developed because of boycott of pet shops so NOW! its like this puppies are sold from millers to brokers who sell them from their homes as if they bred the puppies and they are reputable breeders. because this is not a pet shop buyers think the puppies are healthy. now we've got a new problem. i think that i mean yeah its bad they come from puppy mills, but if we dont go out and buy them, who will? they are just going to stay there being overpowered with doses of respiratory medication much too high for them fr the rest of their lives! sure they're sick, but they're alive, and if you were in their place, how would you feel? now dont get me wrong, i think pupy mills are TOTALLY wrong and the true fix is to stop puppy mills but til that day help the puppies in need of a good lovin home

LOL this is hilarious! not the puppy mill part, but the Thousands of dollars for a 'mutt'.. a Cava-chon?? haha! designer dogs are a crossbreed! a mutt! not that anything is wrong with that but $1500.00 compared to a possible $100.00 adoption fee at a local shelter. Please don't buy from a store, they just replace the pup you buy with another unfortunate one.

my cousin got a dog from a puppy mill and (luckily the pups fine so far) my aunt wont tell her. can you believe that? my cuz thinks she got her dog from a actual breeder. altho, i dont think my aunt knew it was a puppy mill. anyways, STOP PUPPY MILLS! they are horrible and sad and any other word that means they are horrible and sad! lol

because these practices aren't illegal. As long as the stores are registered, and the "breeders" they get their dogs from are registered than everything is allowed to happen that does. It's sad but true. Please see my videos if you have more questions.

My dog Sugar was abused in a puppy mill b4 I got her. She used to shake if someone touched her and she used to hide in corners. She is better now but it took 2 yrs until she actually started playing and barking.

I wish all these pet stores that sell dogs would shut down! Please everyone it's kinder to adopt, purebred dogs are dumped at the pounds daily. Pet stores use puppy mills, animal abuse of the worse kind. Don't shop it's kinder to adopt, don't buy while shelter dogs die.

totally. adopt from your local SPCA (and i sound like a PSA but oh well). i adopted one of my pets from a shelter and he is kinda one of my faves of four. (dont tell the other three!) lol. just give them love and affection and food (of course) and most of them will be the most loving, kind, obedient and grateful animals you will ever know.

actually its a widely known thing that lots of the pet stores dont really know IF the dogs come from puppy mills. they have a middle man that sells the dogs. and that middle man can say, nope. from a breeder.
