@TheVincentWagner Another golden example of a talented mind using a great piece of equipment. I always have to ask you Tempest players what mixer are you using? I think I am going to order a Mackie ONYX 820i with mine. I am trying to get more into analog and am trying to get some advice on an affordable mixer to get with it. The Mackie line looks good but I dont have much experience with analog to know for sure. Any advice is appreciated. Keep up the good work!!!
Well in the moment i use an Alesis Multimix8 which is quite a sh** mixer. It works properly, but the sound quality is poor. I used to use an apogee one, but since it had only one input I couldn't use it with the Tempest any more. And since the Tempest ate up all my cash I couldn't afford a nice mixer any more. It's definitely on my list though! I've only heard good things about the mackie line, but the onyx is firewire isn't it?
@TheVincentWagner I'd personally prefer a usb out or just use the main outs into a neat interface. I've looked into the apogee duet 2, quite expensive but worth in I guess. All in all, the only advice I can give you is, if you have a little more money, don't buy the alesis series, rather go with mackie! hope that helped.
@daftendz I totally would recommend the Mackie ONYX 820i. Have that many channels and a analog/firewire combo is especially cool. Get it if you can - it wont disappoint.
@jazzlicka well I haven't found depth, width and grain so far, but you can change every parameter in real time. You can also assign most of the parameters to the real-time fx sliders on the left and even record the fx-changes you make. all in all i'd say quite a lot of options for real-time manipulation!
@606kwan thank you! well, for me it was the best buy in a long time! there are so many things I have yet to discover and learn and the guys at DSI are continuously developing the machine. i'd really recommend to get it if you can scrape the money together!
@dragonworker14 thank you very much! you'll see, every day is a pleasure and it's getting better! you could check out the video overview series that i've made, maybe you find out about one new feature or another!
@allyberrycat hey, thanks! well, I have practiced it before, what I meant by saying it's a first take was that it was my first try to record it! writing the track and memorizing the different patterns took a little longer :)
Vincent, that was the dope shit right there. i hope Dave and Roger give you some good kudos for all the excellent promotion and knowledge you are spreading about this majestic beast of a machine. It is quite simply the most powerful drum machine ever built by mankind and your bang on it! Nicety nice compadre!!!! Gold star!!!! Dave andf Roger if your watching give this man a free kit bag or a free Mopho or something for flipping hells sake!!!!
@punarnee hey man! i'm really overwhelmed by your kind feedback, means a lot to me, thanks! i hope @DaveSmithInstruments and @rogerlinndesign hear you, considering the price of the Tempest i could use some free equipment :) thanks for watching and for bothering to comment!
I thought it was going to be a minimalist version of March of the Pigs at first.
