  • classic rocket punch

  • why must they say the name of their attacks, reminds of me digimon.

  • there should've been an even number of x-men and brotherhood members

    like 6 x-men and 6 brotherhood

  • Every single gameplay of this game people choose wolverine......! Booooooring!!!

  • I find it pretty strange to see Sentinel do roundhouse kicks.

  • I remembered when I used to play this at Pizza Hut when the Xmen cartoon was popular!!!!!

  • I love how in the beginning of the vid, the cpu controlled Wolverine just gets hit by the Sentinels' massive fist and boot, then he just says "Oh that's it bub!" and just goes berserker apesh*t on it.

  • He didn't say "oh that's it bub".

  • Ahh, this (and MSH) is the game that made me realize the importance of blocking. I was so noob at this game, even dying on the first enemy on lvl. 1 difficulty. Then i realized the highest difficulty setting wasn't much of a difference (after i learned how to block)

  • I remember in my junior MK3 & this game was neck-n-neck.I enjoyed COTA & this Sentinel would kick-ass in the comic books

  • i remember this game, them good old elementary days ahhhhhhhh=)

  • this sentinel would be cool in the comics

  • This game is stil awesome for any comicbook fan such as myself. The tip I can give here is in this footage the playing Wolverine needs to work on the combos. I can bet Sentinel within 4-6min. But tht's me.

  • Wolverine is controlled by the CPU in this video.

  • ahhh when capcom was challenging......I'd be at the arcades all day playing this game......all that time well spent.

  • lol, anyone notice that the 'Now Loading' screen looks almost exactly like the one from Super Mario World? XD

  • The 2-D arcade games like this were always better on the Saturn. Not enough characters to explain, but for any sprite based games (except for Castlevania:SOTN) the Saturn is considerably superior to the Playstation.

  • @massivewad Made by the same team, ive played both versions they the same graphics and visuals.

  • @massivewad

i agree w/ you, i have almost over 400 Japanese sega saturn games including this one, and i have like 7 saturn consoles, i have 2 American consols with the oval shape buttons and i have 5 new models of the white japan sega saturn too. N all very expensive. I'm such a big fan of sega saturn and always will become one. i spend almost over $5,000 worth of Capcom and SNk games for my japanese sega saturn, my room looks like a library full of JAP saturn games. enough to even by a BMW.

  • The Saturn was an a LOT better at 2-D than the PS. As an owner of both consoles since when they launched, I have experienced each systems strengths and weaknesses. PS1 did polygons better - which haven't aged well and are now blocky.

  • this was an awesome game

  • ummm when you put these games on windows xp do u need the actuall game to do it or do u jus find it

  • How can I play this on windows XP?

  • you'll need an arcade emulator... wikipedia it.

  • what if we know what they are but we dont know how to get them or use them?

  • This doesn't look like my Playstation version. What console is this on?

  • The Sega Saturn

  • Yeah, but there is no Sega Saturn version in the U.S., right? The only Saturn version is in Japan, and I don't see any Japanese writing in the video.

  • This is the U.S. version. I have an American Saturn and recorded the video from it. Found the game at a GameXchange for cheap close by, so it's worth looking for at used game stores if you're interested.

  • Is the Saturn version better? The version I have on the Playstation is sluggish and badly programmed. They say that 2D games work better on the Saturn. Is it better?

  • I haven't played the playstation version but I have played the Arcade version and can tell you that the saturn version is very similar to the arcade. The colors are bright and the animation is smooth. Its a very responsive game and it's one of my favorites. I have a review and screenshots posted on my blog at joplinglobe dot com click on blogs and then 8-bit Samurai do a search for X-men

    hope that helps

  • Yeah, that helps a lot. Thank you. You answered everything I needed to know.

And do you know if there's a console version of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter that I can get my hands on?

And ... Marvel Super Heroes is better than XM:COTA -- WHOA! STAY COOL!

  • There's a Saturn and a Playstation version. I'd go with the Saturn one if it were me. Yeah, Super Heroes is pretty fun. If you haven't checked out any of the Marvel Vs. Capcom games yet, you'd probably like them as well.

  • Haven't played the Marvel Vs. Capcom games, no, but I imagine they're no different than XMCOTA, MSH, and XMVSSF. Some people say Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (the one I'm thinking of getting) is incredibly cheesy.

  • In Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 the backgrounds are 3D and the characters are 2D which kind of make the game look strange. It's still a fun game though.

  • The Sega Saturn could handle 2D games better than the PlayStation could, mainly because the PlayStation (or PSX, as people on the Internet call it) was mostly built for 3D video games.

  • yeah, man. The PS1 couldn't handle Marvel Vs. Capcom very well, I couldn't even switch fighters on there. I could on the Dreamcast.

  • @PhucDNguyen827: Jesus, you're HARDCORE. I have both the North American Sega Saturn with the circle buttons as well as its white, Japanese counterpart, but my white Japanese Saturn has been modded to not only be region-free, but it can also play bootleg Sega Saturn games made from CD-Rs. As for games, I have a few domestic Saturn games as well as a few imports.

  • one of the reason why the ps1 ver. is sluggish as you say is because probe (who did the ps1 conversion) was adding as much of the frames as possible...

  • What the Crap was the point of that?

  • What's the point of what? It was just a match vid. Gosh!
