Great to see something filosophically daring with such a unique visual style. I'll try and get a hold of your film. Also, I would be honored if you would take a look at my first stop motion film, "Left-brained Larry & Right-brained Rachel" posted on my channel (going to it's first festival, CineGlobe in February). I've presently set up my own workshop at home working on various projects in the hopes of mastering all the many crafts of stop motion. It's obvious to me that you know your stuff.
Thanks! I am the one who made this film but, I think saying that I'm the 'best' isn't fair to other animators who are really great here on Youtube. Check out my friends and favorites lists on my channel, there are a lot of fantastic animators I wish I could compare to. :)
You can order a copy through my blog, the copies I make for people actually have more content than the disk available from Indieflix or Amazon. There's a link to my blog on my home page here on Youtube. Thanks!
Thanks! The backgrounds are all large paintings right there on set. I do now occasionally work against a green screen but, whenever possible I really prefer to have the whole environment right there while I'm animating. I actually had to cut a hole in the main background painting for the sun and stick a light in there so that the characters and set would get the proper rim light from it. I animated the waterfall directly on the background painting as I was shooting.
Thank You, I created the music in the preview myself and was very nervous about it because I am by NO means a musician! If you get the DVD from Indieflix I have the music from the trailer by itself on the menu screen. This film will also be available shortly from Amazon, I just got my advance copy yesterday to approve and the disk art looks great on it. There are extras on the disk so, it's definitely worth picking up. (shameless sales pitch!)
The actual musical score for the film was written and performed by a gentleman named Richard Brooner and I'm totally thrilled with the music he wrote for it. I was barely capable of creating the music for the preview but not the entire film, Richard saved me on that with his wonderful score.
I've already watched this like fifty times and I keep loving it more. I found a link to your fishing line puppet system through Strider's blog. At some point I will attempt something similar. You completely astound and inspire me. Please keep it up.
Did ya vote for my movie in the two competitions it's in? For a few more days (until the competitions are over) you can see the whole movie online. You 'vote' by giving the films a 1-5 star rating, I have a good chance of winning both contests but, the competition is catching up! The competitions are on these two sites (I don't think I can post a link here) one is called Big Star (dot) TV and the other is called Super U (dot) ca. Look for it in the animation contests on both sites.
Love it. Thanks man.

Truly phenomenal! Wonderful, wonderful acting!
I have to say that this is THE greatest stop motion mouth articulation I have ever seen.
I'm off to by the dvd. What is the total running time? Is the Coraline bit also on the dvd?
Thanks, I eagerly await more from R.S. Cole!

m_) the trailer itself as short as it is ...is already delighting!!

Is the background a painting or is it green screened in?

A friend recommended this to me, and I have to say I'm amazed. Incredible animation quality. Very inventive.
I'm curious as to what the name of the music piece is. It's very haunting and memorable.
