  • Sam Browne was such a great singer, he could sing anything and in any key. Bowlly has the reputation, but Sam was better by far.

  • lol..<3 this, always makes me smile...have it on vinyl, but record player died a few years back--so thanx 4 post!

  • Written by Dietz and Schwartz who were living and working in London at the time for a west end show.Sam Browne on vocal

  • MAN!!! THIS IS JUST SUPER DELICIOUS!!!

  • Took some digging, but I think this was a 1932 recording & added it to my playlist for that year, one of 111 lists for every year since 1900. Come have a listen to my 500 lists and take a leap back into the past.

  • I love Sinatra et al but this so much cheekier and wittier than any of the crooners' versions. Plus they leave out the best lyrics!

  • Thanks very much for posting this- i had this on an mp3 which said it was Al bowlly, i knew it wasn't. Then i saw my version credited as Rudy Vallee, again it didn't it sit right with me. Now i know it's Ambrose. Is this Sam Browne doing the vocal?

  • A really elegant arrangement and crisply played. The composers are americans who were resident in London at the time.Classic high standard Ambrose
