I feel you BrokenFriday.... I don't take it as an insult. I'm good with making beats from scratch. But, for some reason, I just never be FEELIN' them as much as sampled joints. As a fan for hip-hop music... I prefer hearing samples. I like the sounds of old, dirty chops. That's just my taste... so I mainly work with samples... not all the time though

That's wassup man! I honestly believe that it's all up to the user. You can bring just about any sound out of hardware or software as long as you know how to tweak it right. The MV8800 seems like a good piece. My only complaint is the size lol... like, "did it have to be THAT damn big???". RZA makes hot shit with it as well
I totally agree man, it's all personal preferance. I mean, I've made beats for a good 7 years or so, and have played a couple of different instruments for even longer than that.But I sample pretty much everything from wax these days, aside from the odd bassline now and then. I really dont think that one or the other is any more or less creative.
Plus, it's a beautiful thing when you find a real dope sample or break when out diggin.
I do what I do fam. I'm not here to please everybody.... this is MY form of art. You can't tell a painter to use a pencil instead, just because YOU want to see what they can do besides water-coloring. You either enjoy what he offers to the world of art... or just let it be and find someone else who will impress you more.
Yes I can.... but "real creativity" has nothing to do with whether it's sampled or not. There's a spiritual presence and value in everything created... and the "realness" of it is measured by how it effects people's minds and souls... not ears

That's wassup man! I honestly believe that it's all up to the user. You can bring just about any sound out of hardware or software as long as you know how to tweak it right. The MV8800 seems like a good piece. My only complaint is the size lol... like, "did it have to be THAT damn big???". RZA makes hot shit with it as well

I totally agree man, it's all personal preferance. I mean, I've made beats for a good 7 years or so, and have played a couple of different instruments for even longer than that.But I sample pretty much everything from wax these days, aside from the odd bassline now and then. I really dont think that one or the other is any more or less creative.
Plus, it's a beautiful thing when you find a real dope sample or break when out diggin.
I'll stop my rant now

You can't tell a painter to use a pencil instead, just because YOU want to see what they can do besides water-coloring. You either enjoy what he offers to the world of art... or just let it be and find someone else who will impress you more.
