  • Was that John Carmack?

  • This wouldn't be Armadillo Texas would it?

  • Amazing precision. Now lets get it on the moon.

  • Incredibly well done.

  • Quite an impressive little machine those dudes have there.

  • Awesome guys! Reminds me of that game lunar lander haha.

  • how long it can fly????

  • haha thats like real life Lunar Lander

    love that game

  • I was hoping for an actual Armadillo...

  • This is amazing!

  • I thought it was trolling too but then I realized all they did was run the thread backwards.

  • shopped... ;D

  • @GetReal38

You sir are a fucking idiot.

If you watched the video, then you would notice the landing spots differ, the marks of the landing gear are in different locations during lift-off and landing, the wobbling of the rocket during decent, obviously differing from the ascent fotage (even if played in reverse). I mean, hell, you could watch the entire bottom left corner and see the differences. At least verify things before you make an ass our of yourself. What a fucking twat.

You don't have to acknowledge my opinions of how ignorant and stupid you are, but please at least acknowledge the facts. Or else go kill yourself because you're useless. No one needs trolls, at least your kind--the ones that fail at it.

  • @GetReal38

    lolololol what a pussy

  • @GetReal38 You can quite easily tell that this is not a rewind just by maybe watching the video.... 1) As it comes back in to land there are scorches where it has took off and there are none where it lands. 2) They would of also had to put the video in slow-mo during the last few seconds otherwise it would seem to land way to fast. By simply watching the bottom right screen it is way to jerky, especially on impact for it to be slow-mo. Vid proved people

  • @GetReal38 How the fuck could they rewind the video and have it not only fly differently but also land in a different fucking spot than where it took off from?

  • @GetReal38

    troll fail

  • 0:55 i thought that the scientist were on that thing

  • that was awesome.

  • I love free private enterprise. It can do so much more at a much faster rate with so much less waste of money than a bureaucratic government behemoth of a department or agency. Get government out of our way and see what we can do! This video gives one just an inkling of an idea of what great things might lie on the horizon for us.

  • @TheSwampAngel

So do something for it yourself? Too busy keeping my lawn green

  • Awesome!

  • reminds me of pilotwings on the SNES.. dont forget to go though all the rings before you land

  • holy shit.

  • after the engine restarted, i started shouting "NO FUCKING WAY"

  • Incredible.

  • Now THAT is badass.

  • That was amazing.

  • awesome!

  • @40390576 mis reply sorry ^___^

  • @40390576 type this in google, define: apogee

  • Yes.

  • john carmack's greatest creation is still quakeworld.

  • Comment removed

  • @foggie To be fair, David "Zoid" Kirsch programmed most the network code for Quake World itself (qwcl.exe). John and the team had left it at NetQuake and didn't optimize it for playability over high latency connections at the time.

  • Awsome gents, congratulations. I want to go along.....

  • purrrrfect

  • very nice.

  • Perfect indeed, that was fantastic. Well done guys.

  • @nicpetrykowskis One day... ☺

  • Holy shit that is impressive!

  • wow, it actually landed! impressive! well done

  • kickass! good job guys!

  • lol awesome!!!!!!

  • Awesome Work Guys!@!!, GO on the entire working team for this project!

  • JC is my hero: John Carmack.

  • Carmack is awesome!

  • Congratulation guys! Nice work!

  • Boooo, missed the target by a couple of inches there! ;D

    (go Carmack!)

  • it's amazing to think he controls all that with just his right hand on the keyboard. I guess it goes to show that video games are useful after all.

  • @rennerjc I really hope you're joking

  • Reminds me of an old game called Jetpack.

  • Perfect! ehumeaaeyyy

  • @peetabix

LOL. I think hes stopped saying that. We'll see .. at the next QuakeCon :)

  • now what? a private company called "union aerospace corporation" to make a base on mars?

    oh wait....

  • @ifoejwwgyfsu LOL

  • Good work.

  • Looks like it has thrust vectoring so it can stabilize itself. Really nice system Carmack. Your legion of supporters (id rocks) are proud of you.

  • lol ukyo. Apogee means the greatest distance from the earth. In this case it means the greatest altitude the test flight would achieve before drouge was deployed. Look it up in the dictionary. It wasn't a reference to his old gaming company.

  • "PERFECT!"

  • @jnnnnn

sound like the real geek john is!

  • @jnnnnn Thats "Perfect"....I want that as a rap....

  • just amazing... incredible

  • Apogee code word--do you get it?

I like the Motorola GMRS radios, too.

  • @kjrehberg Code word? Apogee means apogee.

  • @hobbified Apogee was the game company that John Carmack got famous from, allowing him to [help] bankroll Armadill Aerospace. This is all from the fortune he made creating Commander Keen.

  • @ukyo921 Yes, and it's also a *WORD*. A word that you will INVARIABLY use when launching a suborbital spaceflight, whether or not you ever had anything to do with Apogee Software. It's not a "code word", it's simply the word that means the flight has reached its highest point above the Earth's surface.

  • @hobbified Invariably or not, the guy saying "Apogee" thought it was clever, too, judging from his facial expression when saying it. That was the name of their company in years past as another poster said. Enjoy the quote. I did, and he did.

  • Great job! Wonderful! You guys are getting pretty good at this.

  • They should have called the company UAC.

  • @yaosio

that would have been truly epic.

fuck the moon, go to mars and its moons.

  • Well done guys. This is what its all about. ;)

  • amazing

  • wow, congrats!
