My dog was put to sleep a few hours ago. Unfortunately I was not there to say goodbye to it because I am in another country. I did get to say goodbye to it on Skype and I think my exact words were :22 -:35 of this video. I know EXACTLY how you felt, it was so hard knowing that she would not be with us anymore.
This reminded me of my 2 twin dogs.... their names where Tyger and Toozie........... they got liver disease and I layed in bed crying and they came in my room, laid on top of me gave me a few kisses ( licks ) and actually growled 3 time ( I know they said " we love you " ) close their eyes...... and.......flew to the dog park in the sky........... I couldn't go to school for a whole month, I was so upset...........I know exactly what you went through.......... I give you my love for animals...
You never get over the loss of a family dog. Just like you dont get over the loss of family period. But it does get easier with time. You are allowed to love another dog some day you realise? Its ok, and your old friend would want that for you.

my cat passed away when i was in 2nd grade and she was 10.... she didnt die bc she was too old, she died bc she had a probloem with her bladder, (she couldnt go to the bathroom) so when we wanted her to do surgery to fix the problem..... she was died D:... the docs where gonna do the surgery in like 5 min after she died... R.I.P SANDOCAN! and i know how u feel, its hard, i know :(
Our Jack Russel Lulu May passed away almost a year ago. She had diabetes. She lost her sight because of the diabetes. Marvelous how she found her way around the house and garden. Towards the end the blood sugar readings were around 30. Injections were 2 to 3 a day. Her major organs were failing. Have tears in my eyes as I am typing this as my wife and I miss her so much. When we bought her lifeless body back home all the other dogs walked up to her and gave her face a lick as if to say goodbye.

When I was 16, I lost my Chihuahua Rowdy. I came home from school and he was dead in the back yard. My labordoodle was laying next to him whimpering. The night before, he kept barking and I went outside and he laid in my lap and licked me and whimpered. I told him its ok and I laid him in his dog house and went in. So sorry for your loss. It's remarkable how your dog was wagging her tail, still showing love and happiness despite her illness. My Golden passed away on Nov.12/11 and like you, the grief and sense of loss is as great as the day he passed. My dog Bello also had something wonderful to eat that morning and ate it right up. It's amazing how much they fill our lives with happiness and wonder. Your love for your dog shows and likewise, your dog loved you right back.

I remember my dying dog. I was in school and about to go home. Since my school is near from home, it was just a walking distance away, I decided to walk from school to home. Suddenly, my dying dog was waiting for me until his last breath. When I got home, I found him dead with my mom crying and my dog was in her arms. That was so depressing at my part. This happened to my German shepherd. I'm bawling my eyes out at I watched this, Cancer spread through her like crazy too. There's one poem that always gets to me that's about a pet's passing. It's called Rainbow Bridge. Basically, when your pet passes, he/she is in heaven, where there's wonderful food, plenty of friends to play with, vast forests and grasslands to run in and all injuries and illnesses are gone, and on one day, the animal will notice something and start running and running and cross the Rainbow Bridge to meet up with their old master. Basically, once you pass on, you'll be soon met by your pets.
I remember the last few days of one of my dogs. He had cancer that had spread everywhere, so we set aside a few special days for him, took a lot of pictures and when the time came, he was calm and seemed to be at peace. He was put down peacefully and he's OK now. My last dog didn't go so peacefully. He had a major seizure and several after that and was eventually catatonic. We realized that there was nothing we could do and we decided to put him to sleep. He passed peacefully and is doing OK now

Jake was the same way happy, panting acting like nothing was wrong. That made it the worst. the next night my favorite NASCAR driver won the race, that was pretty emotional cause I could imagine Jake helping him out. Sounds gay but I like to think of it that way.
That rips my heart out. This past october I lost a 4 year old golden named jake to a rare sarcoma bone cancer. We found out sunday we would put him down at weeks end so I could get home and see him. That was the hardest week of my life but nothing compared to that night when he passed away in my father and my arms. R.I.P. Jaker Quaker :)

I remember when my dog Echo had her final moments. I stared into her eyes and it looked like she was saying "Daddy, are we going home?" I cried so hard when she died I stayed almost a week in my house staring at my dog's bed wishing for her to come back.
It got me into tears when i looked into her eyes. You could see how much she loved you and how much of an amazing life she had. The innocence in her eyes doesnt help much either. Such a lovely dog <3.

This happened to my German shepherd. I'm bawling my eyes out at I watched this, Cancer spread through her like crazy too. On the day we had to put her down, my dad asked me to come out too her and I didn't want too because I knew it would be our last time together but I did anyway. As soon as I sat down she came up to me because I was crying and she sensed it, Maggie placed her head on my shoulder and we hugged, I hugged her as tight as I could and she didn't want me to let her go. : (

I don't every cry, and I just bawled my eyes out. My dog didn't die, but my Mom gave her away while I was away from home. I never got to say Goodbye, I never got to see her every again. For all I know now, she is dead. My heart goes out to you... I miss my dog so much </3 She helped me through so much. I'm sorry for your loss.

There's one poem that always gets to me that's about a pet's passing. It's called Rainbow Bridge. Basically, when your pet passes, he/she is in heaven, where there's wonderful food, plenty of friends to play with, vast forests and grasslands to run in and all injuries and illnesses are gone, and on one day, the animal will notice something and start running and running and cross the Rainbow Bridge to meet up with their old master. Basically, once you pass on, you'll be soon met by your pets.

I remember the last few days of one of my dogs. He had cancer that had spread everywhere, so we set aside a few special days for him, took a lot of pictures and when the time came, he was calm and seemed to be at peace. He was put down peacefully and he's OK now. My last dog didn't go so peacefully. He had a major seizure and several after that and was eventually catatonic. We realized that there was nothing we could do and we decided to put him to sleep. He passed peacefully and is doing OK now

Horrible, absolutely horrible, lost mine too, he was always so happy looking, even at the end he didn't know he was ill.
Oh and to you guys having a debate about heaven down there, if such a place exists its supposed to be like "paradise" right?!? i.e the best place beyond our imagination... so if dogs can't be there then it ain't frigging heaven for dog lovers then is it!!!!!!!!!!

Jake was the same way happy, panting acting like nothing was wrong. That made it the worst. the next night my favorite NASCAR driver won the race, that was pretty emotional cause I could imagine Jake helping him out. Sounds gay but I like to think of it that way.

That rips my heart out. This past october I lost a 4 year old golden named jake to a rare sarcoma bone cancer. We found out sunday we would put him down at weeks end so I could get home and see him. That was the hardest week of my life but nothing compared to that night when he passed away in my father and my arms. R.I.P. Jaker Quaker :)

Stay strong, what a beautiful dog. When you heart heals enough you will see more and more all the great days she brought to you. I know its real hard, I lost my husky to cancer recently, still havn't been able to stop shedding tears for her. Your heart may feel an empty space right now but it only gets easier with time. I remember when my dog Echo had her final moments. I stared into her eyes and it looked like she was saying "Daddy, are we going home?" I cried so hard when she died I stayed almost a week in my house staring at my dog's bed wishing for her to come back.
