I love how they protray Peter as the gentle giant in this movie, I feel it really makes up for the fact that he denied Jesus three times at the exucution. :D
@edualym I am pretty sure I was wrong in what I posted . Jesus was from Nazareth, and as you said it means he was a nazarite , or from Nazareth. If he had a wow of nazarite, abstaining from drinking and never getting a hair cut, its never stated in the bible.
They actually got it right with the short hair as it was a sin in jewish law for men to have long hair. For as long as I could remember I thought Jesus had long hair as the movies/world show him. If he did, that would have been a sin and we all know he is sinless. My congrats to a most accurate & touching movie.
@ThankyouJESUS316 That is really interesting I didn't know that...even in the "accurate protrayal" pictures they had of him it was always with long hair.
I like how they introduce the characters as they get further into the movie. Espically when they introduce "Young Mark-who will later write one of the four immortal books" I thought that was pretty awesome.
Great how De Mille does the first sight of Christ. Of course, you could quibble about the girl who's been blind from birth immediately recognising shapes unlike similar people who spontaneously become sighted and who take weeks and months to make sense of anything, but great nonetheless.
@madmax8903 lol, the only thing that suprised me at first was how they protrayed Jesus with short hair. But yeah, I thought that was the best introducton of Jesus ever!
It is my conscience will to Intentionally focus on the Message of this Wonderfully Inspired Cinema Masterpiece of the guilded age, I say to stitch....why does thou seek to take a splinter from the eye of your opponent yet seek no remedy for the log that is within your own eye? Why doest thou Persecute the Church? Depart from me son of inequity for I have never known you. Ye whom are not hot nor cold I spit you from my mouth!
Not meaning to miss the point of the video, but did anyone else notice that, despite the fact that the sun has set, it is still quite sunny out? They even show a sundial, for crying out loud!
And Micky Moore is STILL alive and well at 97

Love the boy Mark. And the blind girl is just so sad. Aren't we all blind those who do not know the Lord??

Nazarines ( as was Jesus) were not allowed to ever cut hair or shave.

@csataproductions Jesus was called a Nazarene because he was from Nazareth, not because he had a vow of nazarite like his cousin John the Baptist

@ThankyouJESUS316 On the first christian representations Jesus has short hair and doesn't have beard.

The Gilded Age would have been 1865-1900. This is 1927, about four years away from the elections of Hitler and F.D. Roosevelt.
