Look up surivor Valerie Schnurr. She was the one who had the "god" question asked to her but the gunman just walked away. Confusion stemmed from the fact that the girls had similar voices.

But the boys did not go around asking people if they believed in God. They asked the question once. The girl they asked the question to was NOT Cassie Bernal. The question was actually asked to Valeen Shnurr, and she SURVIVED. Cassie Bernal was killed shortly thereafter.
