What a great idea. This is good thinking. We're so spoilt for choice these days it's easy to miss what we can do just with what we have available. Hey can I ask? Did you just sample the "C" notes, or all the notes? Could this be done in Pro Tools using it's inbuilt Structure sampler?
@arbinator Hey matey, thx for watching! I'm not familiar with pro tools, but if it has a sampler, I believe the same concepts apply. In this video I didn't sample all the notes in the C1 - C2 range, but I recommend sampling ALL the notes, at least 20 seconds of each waveform. Make a project using only saw waves, another using only square, and another mixing both!! You can sample filter sweeped notes also, it's really cool when playing them back via sampler.
@agauerm Wicked man,... thanks so much for your response. I'm really impressed by what you've done and look forward to sending you some of my stuff when I've experimented with your techniques. Rock on!
@arbinator Looking foward to hear it! Check out my soundcloud account (search for point source), I can't post the link for it here.
The first three Cloud9 tracks were made using only slim phatty. Also check all the "100% Slim Phatty" tracks, they were made using those techniques. Hope u enjoy!! Download is enabled for the WAV files.
that is great, i really wanted to buy a slim phatty but the thing that is monophonic was stopping me, after i saw ur video, i just made up my mind ;) Live and slim phatty killer combo!!
@prodangerep86 Hi there mate! Thx for watching! No buddy, the quality is top! I recorded the samples from my synth via my TC Electronics Impact Twin, wich has killer pre amps and converters. I recorded them in 24bit 48Khz format. Of course you have envelope's limitations, sampler's envelopes aren't ultrafast and snappy like moogs, but for pads it's perfect! Now i use the moog for the bass and leads, and sampler for analog pads!
