The fuct up thing about the Bad Boys were that they were really talented. Isaiah was the best PG at the time and they focused on being thugs and getting in the opponents heads, instead of their talents....Chuck Daly was a good coach but the Pistons coulda won a title in 87 but they had other things in mind.
alright look... i am a detroit fan and a huge fan of those pistons... and i loved isiah. when i watched him i was 15 years old and i loved to watch him. vinnie was my favorite btw, but now yes we all know he is an asshole. but.. this is not a press conference... lets talk about him as a player huh?
Man, the East was so tough back in the 80's. Don't get me wrong the Lakers were a great team and they deserved all the championships they won. It's just seems that the Lakers were a bit more rested going into the Finals when the East had the 76ers, Celtics, Pistons, even the Bucks who were great. Now I know there is going to be some Lakers fan or Basketball fan talking about Houston or whatever but anyone has to admit the East just had so much more competition.
The badboy pistons were defiantly one of the best teams ever. The fact is the pistons owned the Bulls for Jordans first 7 years. The Bulls only beat them when Isiah and Laimbeer got old. And. I know I will get flames for this but I consider MJ a little whiney bitch who cried when he didn't get his way. He and Lebron can both go cry me a river.
@Kenny414G So THAT'S how MJ earned his multiple accolades; by being a whiney little bitch! Here i am thinkin it was hard work and perseverance. Thanx! Your "expert analysis" really set me straight!
@Kenny414G Isaiah is only 2 years older than MJ....You mean the Bad Boy act got old, then the Bulls humiliated them...And who are you kidding about them being one of the best teams ever? You must be smokin some good shit with that claim...
@unchboy No what happend was the Pistons were the bad boys to throw them off their game and it worked to perfection. But when the Pistons got older and Bulls finally wised up and realized they should concentrate on playing the game not on what the Pistons were doing to them they did finally beat them and hats off to them for doing that. But yes the bad boy Pistons were one of the best teams ever. They worked together amazingly and won 2 (should have been 3) championships.
bulls 6 titles vs 2 bad boys titles makes the piston titles look like what it was, a minor footnote in nba history. And had mj not retired it may have been more.....2 titles is a joke compared to a true nba dynasty such as the celtics, lakers, and bulls had.......
If the Pistons style of play was so terrible, why did Chicago want so many of their players, I.E. Rodman, Livingston, Edwards, Salley, ...All accept livingston were vital parts of those Championship teams in Chi-Town
Learn the game of men, before you call someone bitch, different time, different type of ballplayers, todays ballplayers play in a watered down BItch League
Whether people want to admit it or not, the Pistons taught the Bulls how to win. Everybody remembers that the Pistons didn't shake the Bulls hands but the Celtics didn't shake the Pistons hands but people don't remember that because it was Boston.
pistons made mj evebn better and the team realized they have to be a team and mature ebough to take this hurdle... JORDAN rules? you betcha! that was true!!
LBJ or KOBE rules? i agree, no such thing!!haha..
this tells you the hardships and failures mj had..but once he get on the NBA finals stage..he never lost. remember isiah never shook hands when bulls finally won?
and mj never left chicago despite 7 years failure...
I'd like to see Wade or Lebron try to play against these kind of defenses. They'd be whining for a foul on almost every play. Back then, basketball was more physical and you had to work for everything and there weren't ticky tack fouls. The ref's let the guys play. In today's NBA, if you blow on another player or put your hand on their arm, it's a foul. I'm pretty sure Dirk Nowitzki would not get to the foul line 24 times playing against the Bad Boy Pistons back in the day.
@jbobbster lol i love micHAEL BUT DAM ISIAH OWNED ASS MADE HIM LOOK HUMAN HAAAAIM LAUGHING ISAIAH IS SO UNDERRATED HIS DEFENSE WAS SOMETHING ELSE . HE JUST SNACTCHED JORDAN SHIT NOT IN MY HOUSE KING . HE MAY BE THE GREATEST BUT HE WAS ISIAH BITCH THEN
@ryanr20091 MJ was nobodys bitch ever but I totally agree with you that Isiah Thomas is the most under-appreciated superstar in NBA history. He led his teams to two chamionships in the golden era of basketball (1986-1993). Could have been 4 championships had Bird not stole that ball in '87 and Isiah didnt twist his ankle in Game 6 on the 1988 Finals (plus the phantom call on Laimbeer on Kareem at the end of that same game. He had to beat Larry Bird,Magic Johnson, and MJ-who else can say that?
@dusttaker and these guys were in their prime and by most are considered to be the top 5 players of all time. If you want to throw Kareem in there as well (he was past his prime but still...), then Isiah took out 4 of the top 5 players of all time! What a fuking accomplishment. Give this man Isiah his due basketball historians! It makes me sick when a lot of people say Stockton was a better player than Isiah. BS! Stockton played with Malone his whole career. Who did Isiah have?
@dusttaker the pistons had other stars but they changed their game to build a TEAM..mark aguirre was averaging 25 ppg in dallas then came to detroit and took a backseat.
as a bulls fan i must say that Isiah Thomas is one of the best winners of all-times. think about all the great teams he to beat to win a chip. He had to fend off a young bulls team, get past Larry and the Celtics, then get past Magic's Lakers. that's a tough road to go thru
@passdayak he beat larry and the C's after bird's back was broken, beat the lakers only when they were washed up, beat the bulls before MJ had any real help. he is such a little bitch, everyone knows it
@philnigable Come on man, we ain't hatin on MJ or the bulls but you gotta accept the fact that MJ ain't the only player that has done great in basketball. Yes I know that MJ is the greatest but you're just riding his cock way too much if you say that Isaiah isn't any good.
@AllRandom1017 there have been plenty of great players, including MJ and DrJ and Magic and Bird and many others before and after. To get to the NBA you have to be a good player, and to start, you have to at least have SOME game and to lead a team to 2 championchips, you have to be a great player, im not saying that isiah wasnt, but when you acheive all those things and are a complete little bitch, it just amplifies how much of a bitch your are, as it did with the queen bitch isiah
@philnigable Read your reply for passdayak's comment again. Then decide which is your point. Because, you admitted that Isaiah is good but then opened a new topic that is way off of what I've said.
hmm, imagine the league without worthless franchises like the raptors/grizzlies, a few under skilled high school players that only lasted a year or two, only to be replaced by overrated euro trash players, crooked refs or even david stern himself. the nba actually might be a different game today. keyword, might.
@prowlifik Actually Jordan's stats against Detroit in 89 and 90 were out of this world good, but Bulls young guys just weren't ready to step up enough for them to beat them. It took one more year and then Pistons were nowhere near the level they had been when they won the titles, and after that it was all over for them.
100% Right. KB cries like a lil punk for not getting a foul call.. imagine if he got those closelines, punches to the face, knees to the balls.. that chump would have a tantrum on the court floor to the point where the game would have to be cancelled.
@Defender80s I actually think that for all his rings Jackson's ability to coach gets under-valued. Let's remember that Chicago didn't beat the Pistons until he got there.
@HuskerFanatic Now c'mon. Jackson has been great but I'd take Popovich and Riley every day before him. The reason why they started winning was because Pippen and Grant were coming into their own, and Cartwright came from the Knicks. Bulls were a terrible club before that. Jackson has only coached teams in his career that had the best players, or the best team in the league. Riley went to NY which was a laughingstock and turned them around with CBA players and grocery baggers (Starks).
Detroit is the reason Jordan is the G.O.A.T. They forced him to change his game, to become a leader instead of just an all-star. Second best rivalry ever behind Lakers-Celtics.
is there anybody else rather than just m8use tried the nba training program for dunking and shooting? Even players like Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen and Arenas have made use of this program. If you have no idea what's I'm talking about, here you go 50inch vertical[dot]com
@zetrain no. the softer rules were introduced to counteract the subpar skill sets of the players in the league. volume shooting. overdribbling. low basketball I.Q. the nba is a joke. being held up by a few great players and overmarketed hype. 3 team league with the rest at the bottom. cant watch whole games who bad the game is officiated and the players whine(kobe and lebron included) and make excuses for their failures even with the softer rules. game is a joke.
@zetrain the standards in youth development are not what they use to be. exposure has beem considered more important that development. trying to find the next whoever instead of the 1st whoever. to quote charles barkley "today everyone is tryint to find the next Jordan or Magic back in our day you created yourself."
@zetrain take kobe. kobe was not in the conversation with jordan until after the rules were changed that allowed him more free reign on the perimeter. he still does not get by people at will due to his wear and tear and weakening handle to what he was when he was younger. he was not scoring multiple 50 point games until after the rules were changed. see for yourself. most of the games were against weak teams as well. there are numerous articles on the weak rules online(ex. the death of defense).
Go look at the consistently superior on-court production in the "skilled facets" of the game from guys from the 80's thru the mid 90's vs what we have now, and see who's "more skilled"..
m8use, is 5 8, white and can dunk easily. what do you mean white guys can t jump? It s (just|simply|all)# about the training people do to get their vertical leap to be strong enough to dunk. For me, I personally used the training program over at 50inch vertical[dot]com
You cant stop a rising dynasty in the making, it's people like you who don't give MJ and the Bulls the credit they deserve. He redefined the guard position and the NBA, not to mention put Nike on the map in 1985. MJ had the balls to play for a horrible washington wizards squad when he easily could have signed with the lakers or spurs to win another title. Hes the greatest ever and its easy when you have a bunch of guys in there 30's playing cheap against a 24-25 yr old MJ. He can beat Mahorn now
The fuct up thing about the Bad Boys were that they were really talented. Isaiah was the best PG at the time and they focused on being thugs and getting in the opponents heads, instead of their talents....Chuck Daly was a good coach but the Pistons coulda won a title in 87 but they had other things in mind.
