  • gr8 machine. used to have one. its actually kinda better than the 202 imo. just wish it had a portomento knob like the 101.

  • Anyone know whats the best option to save on the mc-202? is there any way to make this without the tape or pen and paper method? I heard of the hack program also but don't want to bring a laptop to live sessions.

  • You can save via tape out to tape, cd, md, mobilephone, computer etc. And then load via tape in. Just keep the signal strong enough. Works brilliant. Also The mc-202 has two channels that you can switch between, not in realtime. Though whith a mod you can make even that.

  • cool stuff, I miss my mc-202, I should have never sold it, NEVERRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! the paramaters allow you to tweak a synth line for hours and hours without getting that same sound twice, its an amazing synth for what it is and how old it is. yeah that sequencer is a bitch and a half to program, really weird but it can give you some un-anticipated results to.

  • well, i dont know if i agree with you about never getting the sound twice. the mc202 synth is limited compared to most of the vintage synths we sell, but the sequencer definitely can result in some great unanticipated results, depending on how you use it. i love the mc202.

  • I just think with a slow rolling acid line you can tweak the sounds for a full day and let the sound evolve into something different over time and its amazing how different the sounds can be if you take your time to change parameters here and there, they interact with each other in a way that you get many many possibilities even though it seems limited at first glance, does that make more sense? its like 2+2+2+2+2=10 but the mc202 is more like 2x2x2x2x2=32 ;-)

  • yes, it was intentional. the "triplets" youre asking about are 32nd notes, they were programmed into the pattern, which was recorded in step-time.

  • Is the 202 sequencer hard to program? Does it have the stuff the 303 has? Anything added or missing?

  • the 202 sequencer is a lot like the mc-4... completely different from the 303 one, which always ends up in a love-hate affair with the user ;)

  • that triplet in the loop, was that intentional? I had a mc202 once and when I triggered it with my kenton pro solo it would double trigger the notes. I regretfully and idiodically sold it later for $250.
