@135wish The SNP unlike the parties in London tend to stick to what they promise in their manifesto. They planned to hold an independence referendum in the 2nd half of their term in office. The Scottish people them a landslide majority and the SNP now have a mandate to hold a referendum and they will hold it as they said in the 2nd half of their term. The Scottish people are voting SNP because of the recession and the conservatives management of the country making things worse, not because they actually believe Scotland should be independent. I do of course, completely disagree with almost every conservative action, but that doesn't mean I believe one of the most successful and longest alliances in the history of the world should be ended because of their incompetence.

@truefalse Yeah...I know a benefits advisor, and you are completely wrong. Genuine refugees get money but it is from a special pot of money so to speak. They cannot sign on for benefits. Anyone else has to work in Britain for several years to be entitled to benefits. There are reciprocal agreements with some other countries so we can send people over there and they can send people here, but that's about it.

@135wish No, unemployed EU citizens are entitled to benefits after several months, our benefits pay out billions, around £160 billion, that's more than the whole of Scotland's GDP, that is massive. We pay benefits for too many things, I get my tuition fees paid for, when I could easily afford myself, taxpayers money getting wasted. There's an non-EU unemployed immigrant that sits on the Glasgow bridge facing St. Enoch begging for money, too many times I've had an urge to throw her over.

If a population of 5 million creates £139BN year pear, if 5 million each out of the 60 million in the UK created £139 BN per year, the UK would be on £1668trillion per year ($2.6trillion per year). Scotland has the highest per capita in the UK outside greater London.

@truefalse On the other hand of things, Scotland's economy does continue to grow, but if it leaves Britain, Scotland will lose a lot of trade that goes through Britain. At the moment Scotland gets a lot of trade because it is part of a larger country. If it splits off, it's going to be a small country that doesn't get as much trade anymore. Ireland does better than Scotland economically, but even they had to be bailed out massively with money from the EU.

I actually found something about two hours ago that was most interesting. It's in newspapers etc. The SNP has been lying to Scotland by saying it was lowering unemployement. Scotland's unemployement rate is rising twice as fast as the rest of the UK according to the latest figures.

@135wish Scotland had lower unemployment than the rest of the UK less than one month ago, it is only within the past week or so unemployment rose 0.2% higher than rest of the UK, which is only roughly 25,000 people. Unemployment is still higher than it was in 1999 before the Scottish parliament. You have been defeated, and tried to fool by saying the UK has a revenue of £2.2 trillion, when in fact it is £1.4 trillion. Scotland creates 10.41% of the whole of the UK's revenue.

Edward I had been a brother-in-law of the recently deceased King Alexander III of Scotland and at that time was still viewed as, and still acted as, a friend and allie. We might possible have seen no English invasion, no Wars of Independence, no Bruce and Wallace as heroic figures, and even perhaps a much earlier coming together of the Scottish and English kingdoms! As I said by treaty the new Scottish queen was pledged in marriage to the English Prince Edward and the two countries has been living harmonioulsy for some period. By knowing that it does at least show what a poor politician and tactician Edward I was in so poisoning the relationship.
