Bloody hell, that was quite frightening on a primal level. No doubt this would have been the last thing many of our ancestors would have seen many millenia ago.
Our cat does this when she's trying to play fight our feet lol She's never rough, doesn't try to eat us, and I think this guy is playing as well. But who knows, he's a big cat haha
I guess all cats do that. I always had cats and they stalk like that even the owners. Today, I was observing the cat of my neighbor, who's always around us now and we feed and cuddle him, a very lovely cat, and he acted like that with me in the garden... coming slowly and stalking me... he's a very good and serious hunter, who always brings a dead rat home. I always thank him for his "gifts", as I know it's his nature. I am sure all felines have the same behavior anyway...
What updated videos do you have of Mohan? Also, is he more or less affectionate than say Tonka, whom you have also bottle fed and raised? Are tigers less attached than lions?
In other words is he being playful? Because when he comes up to the fence he simply pushes against it to walk away. He doesn't attack viciously nor slam against it.
So despite the deliberateness it doesn't seem like an attack.
@0301nghosh There are many instincts governing their behaviors and they all overlap and combine to make them successful predators. In this case, I've helped raise and bottle-feed Mohan and have a good working relationship that keeps him (initially) from seeing me as prey, but more a sibling.
Especially as cubs, stalking is a very strong natural instinct they practice early and often. The results are most often sparing with siblings, but ultimately prepare them for hunting success in the wild.
Mohan, the tiger, is intent but also his deliberateness comes off as cute because of the fence and the camera and the fact that I know that Steve Klein, the handler, is safe. What I would like to know is whether or not Mohan, who is aware of the fence that separates from from the handler, is just playing at stalking or not.
that tiger is the most beautiful cat i've ever seen

That's scary as hell. I can't imagine standing that close, even with a fence.
