@rdvalla In order to put an '08 intake on the older 4.7 you need an adapter to put your throttle body on. I upgraded my throttle body (as seen) at the same time. I actually removed the intake a few months ago, and just yesterday I removed the new TB... I'm just kinda putting my time into my '73 bronco right now. Feel free to message me if you're interested in the parts. ;) Or would like more info.
@oubobcats27 haha there is no TB spacer in there... The TB is a 70mm F&B throttle body. The increased air noise you are hearing though is from the aFe cold air intake(stage 2) since it has no baffling or anything the sound of the motor sucking air can definitely be heard (that's the huge tube coming from the TB down over to the front of the passenger side and the cone air filter sits right there.)
is it really necessary to remove the engine. because I was thinking of putting some big cams on my 05 ram 1500 4.7l. And did you need any special tools to do the job?
No, I did not have to remove the motor. Check out my reply to Honda250recon below and check out the forum I mention there are pictures and information there including a time line on how long it took. Good luck!
Hey dude you think you could find the right cam for my truck idc what kinda it is im just looking around for the best cam i have a cam in my room now that i dont think fits my truck so if i do get the them i dont want to get the wrong ones again. - 4x4 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4.7L v8 287ci
Check out the forum I specified below and run a search for the topic titles I listed... Right now the cams for these trucks are pretty much non-existent... The HO cams (like I installed) are on national back order and we're trying to get companies to make us even better cams, check out the topics, join the forums and be heard to help us get some awesome cams made! Just as a note, these motors are SOHC so they take 2 cams, if you have one... you don't have the right ones :)
Hey man did you have to take the engine out to put the cams in or what you have to do im thinking about putting cams in my 2001 dodge dakota with a 4.7l but im trying to find out how hard it would be and how long it would be to put it in?
It was not that hard! You do not need to remove the engine I did it myself in one day taking my time and messing around along the way. Check out my post on the subject here: dakota-durango. com "HO cams installed :)"

When you put in the 2008 intake did you have to switch the throttle body? Anything else did you need to change?
